Hi,

Me and my wife submitted our green card package, but it was returned stating that the check was the wrong amount. I called the USCIS and they said that we would need to file a I-485 with a $1070 dollar check for my wife and a $635 dollar check for her daughter. Is that correct? Second, are there any other forms that need to be duplicated? It does not appear so, but I don't want this sent back for something trivial again. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Its not the fees that I am concerned with. I sent one $1705 check. The note they sent did not say anything other than the check amount was wrong. What I was told was that I had to do two I-485's. One for my wife and one for my daughter. I only had one I-485 with the daughter listed on it. My main question is, do I need one I-485 for both, or two separate I-485's? I think I need to to do separate forms.

Each person requires a petition and a separate payment.

YES separate I-485s, each needs a G-325a plus other documentation needed for the AOS. Read the instructions for the I-485 form. You need (minimum) to include a copy of their passport entry stamps, the NOA2, the I-94, the K visas and your marriage certificate. Any additional evidence of your marriage you can include at this time is great.

I was afraid of that. So, should I just duplicate all the forms, evidence, etc., I made for my wife for my daughter? Or is just duplicating the form sufficient? Thank you for your help.

Yes, duplicate everything. It is two separate applications and they may become separated after arrival. I sent duplicates of everything. Two complete applications

Well, I guess this weekend I have some work to do. I am just going to duplicate everything. Thank you everyone. I appreciate it.

Can I ask you?!Are you a US citizen?

If yes and if you are as a father on your daughter's birth certificate, you could ask for her citizenship and wouldn't need to apply for a green card for her thru the immigration at all.

It's not his child, it's HER child. It's his step-child. Yes in future posts he refers to "my daughter" but the OP states "her child".
