  1. 1. If you could only pick one, which would it be?

I'm gonna choose the SAIGA-12, in the end.

I have to assume that ammunition won't be readily available after the Zombie apocalypse starts ,

and I can repack my 12 gauge shells with gunpowder and anything else I can crib together..

Keep yer powder dry, but a 20 kg brick of it should be an early purchase, with some reusable dehumidifying packets thrown in for good measure.

So for 'the shot pellets' replacements - crikey - almost any metal can be reused, heck even some dense plastic, even crushed glass.

Don't forget the primers! You need something to make the powder go boom!

I think I found you on You tube:

That guy has a much bigger budget than I. Out of all those weapons he listed, I have an AK. That's it.

In truth, I've never really been a collector. I've never had the desire to own several kinds of different guns. I've always been in the camp of having a few different guns in a few calibers, and that's it.

I'd rather have a ton of mags and ammo than more guns.

As it stands I have .22LR, .223, 7.62x39, .45 and 12ga. That's it. Probably the only thing I'm going to add on there is an M-9 in 9mm so that way I can take advantage of some of the "surplus" 9mm that will likely be floating around.

I would imagine there'll be some rural markets in midAmerica that'll be manufacturing 12ga pretty quickly. I'd guess it'll be one of the first products available after a collapse and will be used as currency for quite some time.

hello kitty AK

Mine looks more like this -

Are Zombies flammable?unsure.gif

I assume they would be since they're made of the same stuff we are.

I reckon a mag loaded with Dragon's Breath ought to set the whole hoard on fire. That's one of the main reasons I'm considering going to a Saiga instead of my traditional go-to, the AR. Fire scares just about any living, breathing organism out there. I'm not aware of a zombie aversion to fire but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't just walk right into it. If so, I need to rethink my zombie prep strategy.

Previously I was going with this -

But if fire works, we may just have to cook up something else.

To bump this thread back to the top.....

I sold a few pumps I had and bought a Saiga-12 today. Since the government doesn't trust me to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer, I'll have to wait a while to actually use it. Should have it all kitted up in the next few weeks.

I'm still not 100% sure which one I'd use though. AR or Saiga. Still a tough call.

You going to trick it out like Baron did with his? I remember those pics he posted of it in the RUB forum when he got it all finished up and that thing was one bad looking mofo.

"I want to take this opportunity to mention how thankful I am for an Obama re-election. The choice was clear. We cannot live in a country that treats homosexuals and women as second class citizens. Homosexuals deserve all of the rights and benefits of marriage that heterosexuals receive. Women deserve to be treated with respect and their salaries should not depend on their gender, but their quality of work. I am also thankful that the great, progressive state of California once again voted for the correct President. America is moving forward, and the direction is a positive one."

My Saiga is already pretty tricked out. It has a collapsible stock, hogue rubber grip, UTG quad rail, folding vertical foregrip and custom muzzle brake on the end. It also has the nice Tapco trigger to be 922r compliant. All those accessories were on it when I purchased it.

Plus, the guy I bought it from is a machine guns manufacturer and he did a "reliabiilty job" on it. I'll try to linke the facebook pic later today.

I'm on a budget.

A limited budget.

This is the best thing for you guys:

The only downside to psychiatric folks is they don't shoot much. I like the psy-ops games, but without brute force backing it up, it doesn't really matter how twisted you think you are.
