Hi all,

I'm an American filing a K-1 for my fiancee in Brazil.

Considering that Brazil is definitely a "high fraud" country, I wanted to front load my application with proof of ongoing relationship.

But I have a question about that, namely, how do I differentiate between "proof of having met in the last two years" and "proof of ongoing relationship"?

I had thought that I would combine the two into something I could call "Proof of having met in the last two years and ongoing relationship".

In it, I basically wrote out a timeline of our relationship with various pieces of evidence supporting the different events I describe inserted throughout. I thought this would be the clearest way to explain the variety of different forms of evidence that we'll be presenting.

So I just was wondering what would be the best way to present it. Should I duplicate the evidence into the two specific divisions, or will putting it together into something that serves both purposes be okay? I suppose splitting it wouldn't be a problem, but I'd be duplicating a lot of the evidence, giving two copies of the same stuff in the same envelope.

I hope I made that clear...

For the proof of having met in the last two years, you could consider submitting boarding passes, hotel bills, and the likes, and everything else as proof of ongoing relationship.

What leads you to believe that Brazil is a high-fraud country? They are next up to be included in the Visa Waiver Program.

You definitely need to separate these two types of evidence. One of the most common mistakes is to not include evidence of meeting in person in the last two years. For that, you need things like passport stamps, boarding passes, or receipts in the foreign country, not photographs, or worse, chats.

Don't duplicate evidence. Make your file easy to read and understand.

I agree with Harpa. good.gif

Here's a link to the K1 GUIDE http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide please be sure to read it. There are examples of what can be sent there, as well.

Good luck!

Thanks for you prompt responses. It seemed to me like the two things overlap a bit, but I'll definitely go with separating the two.

Keep it simple, Nathan good.gif You should be ok. They don't want our love stories, they wants facts than can be proved with evidence.

Wow!!! Thanks for that!!!

No, Brazil is not a high fraud country, and no matter that, you need ALWAYS to front load your petition with evidence. Good luck!

I beg to differ. Less is more in some cases good.gif Include information that is relevant.

Some specific countries, require front loading, but even then, it cannot be a matter of "let's just throw everything we have there, including a picture of the dog we'll buy together"... at least not for a K1 petition

I didn't mention to "throw everything we have including a picture of the dog we'll buy together", I don't know where you read that on my post...

I just expressed MY OPINION, and that's something that the OP will decide if he does or not...

And again IMO, it's always good to provide as much evidence as you have, people that take the visa process for granted have more risk of being denied or even grilled in an interview.

Oh no no, I didn't meant it to you personally. I was speaking in general terms, because a lot of people, seem to believe that's the actual definition of front loading. I didn't even say you were wrong..

I'm sorry if it came out as some sort attack to you, it was really not my intention. I understand it's your opinion; which is why I said: I just really differ... that's all.
