When i fill out the form DS-260 online do i need to have a printer hooked up to my computer? Or does it generate a form i can take to kinkos print center?

Thank you.

You can have the confirmation from the DS-260 emailed to you. If you wish to print out the summary of what was filled in the form, yes, you will need a printer.

It generates a pdf file.

The DS-260 for electronic processing is online, and does not generate a .pdf file like an I-864 or the DS-230 will. Once the answers are filled in, it is electronically signed and submit button clicked, there's no going back. You can look at a summary page, and there is a button to print the summary page but it will not generate a .pdf file.

A confirmation can be emailed to the designated email address used to opt-in to electronic processing and the confirmation page will be a downloadable .pdf file with a barcode. It is not that actual DS-260 form.

Actually, if you click the print button and then "print to pdf" then you'll get a PDF of the review pages. This is what I did, and still have all the review pages yes.gif

I tried that and it kept messing up! So I figured it wouldn't let me. I just hit the print button anyway :)

I'm going to need a new black cartridge after this lol.

Hmm, that's weird, it should have worked.

In the end though, I of course printed out the review pages, but it's good to have an electronic copy as well, just in case. Made me feel better. Plus, when people ask questions about it, I can quickly get to it on my computer, instead of getting up, going to my bedroom closet, pulling out my immigration folder, and checking the print-outs laughing.gif

Thanks, the issue is that i dont have printer at home i do all my printing at kinkos copy cemter. So i thought i could just fill out DS-260 and take a pdf to kinkos and print the barcode page. But I guess what im hearing is that the form doesnt generate a pdf, the user has to have the right print drivers installed to convert html to pdf.

Thanks for all your help and giving the heads up on this. ;D

You don't need a printer at home or print drivers. All you need is Adobe Reader/Acrobat installed. Then you can just click the "print" button and instead of selecting a printer from the list, you select "print to PDF". This isn't hard to do...

Yes, yes, thank you it all worked just as you said. I know this is a very simple matter but anyone going through this process knows we have to be extra careful. I heard bad stories of people that couldnt print out their ds-260. Glad everything worked out, thank you all.

Well, I dunno about Mexico, but for Montreal, we never needed to show print-outs or confirmation of the DS-260, so it doesn't really affect us at all if we do or don't print it out.
