do you guys think i should find an immigration lawyer for my criminal record when i am applying for citizenship?

If you have money and if it makes you feel better then go ahead and hire one. I would say wait for the decision and if they decline it then you can always appeal for it and hire an attorney at that time.

No lawyer ! i got more them 5 arrest and got convicted in a few of them i had my interview feb 29 brought all my court disposition for all my arrest to my interview ....now i'm just waiting for the outcome! last time got arrest it was 7 years ago! so just chill an smoke another bag of weed! Lol.. Thats nothing compare to my case!

someone told me that if i have a criminal record..for instance, i have a possession of marijuana less than 1oz..i should not apply for citizenship on my own/by myself..i should find an immigration law firm/lawyer to apply for me instead

p.s. am just trying to save some money.

I recently applied with a (what is essentially) shoplifting conviction (dismissed by community service) without a lawyer and I got approved on the spot, oath was 2 weeks ago. That said personally if I was Joker I wouldn't've applied without a lawyer. I highly suggest looking to see if there are any free immigration law clinics in your area, like there is in Los Angeles. For 20 dollars they looked over my files and papers ahead of time just to give me the peace of mind that I was doing things correctly.
