Hello All,

I am filing I-765 with I-130, I485, I864 and need some help with Question no.16 in I-765. My wife is adjusting from a B2 Visitor's visa - so what should i write in Qs. 16 of that form. Also, do i need to send any fees for I765 and I131 while filing together with I-130 and I-485. Thank you for your help in advance.

(c )9. No fee when filed together with I-485 - this is all explained in the instructions, and in the VJ guide for AOS as well..

Also, for future reference, it is always a good idea to post the question from the form. That way people won't have to do and download the form to see what q.16 in form I-765 is before they can answer your question.

That is the second part of a 2-part question. The first part is "Have you ever applied for employment authorization before?" Then you tell them what happened. If you have not applied before, then you say "No" and N/a for the follow up.

Thank you Little - also in part 3. it is asking 'Date of Intended Departure' and 'Expected Length of Trip'. Well she is not planning to go anywhere now - but I'm just applying for the parole document just in case if there is any emergency. Also, it says 'If you are applying for an Advance Parole Document, skip to Part 7.'Does that mean I should not answer Question 5. Which is 'Where do you want this travel document send?'Also, do i need to answer part 4.5.6. looks like they dont apply to her as well. Please see images to have clear idea of what i'm talking about and thank you in advance.post-129837-0-37728900-1333573480_thumb.jpgpost-129837-0-02129300-1333573484_thumb.jpg

You are making this more complicated than it really is :)

You're applying for an Advance Parole document - not a re-entry permit or a refugee document. Therefore, you do not have to answer questions regarding these types of documents. Skip to part 7.

You do not have to answer the mailing address question, because that same question is asked again in the section that is relevant for people applying for AP.

Regarding the dates, many people put down "unknown". AP is routinely approved as part of AOS, and I don't think I have ever seen anyone's AP application get denied.. On the separate sheet which you are asked to provide, you can state that you are applying for an AP in case you will unexpectedly have to travel home or abroad for any reason during the time AOS is pending.

It's A.

I hope I don't sound mean, but I sincerely urge you to read both the forms, the instructions, and the VJ guide a few more times. I also suggest you take advantage of both the search function here on VJ, as well as Google.. if you type in "I-485 part 2" in the VJ search box, it will show you about 2,000 results - all (well, most) of them telling you the correct answer to that question. The main thing with this process is attention to detail and careful reading and understanding of the forms and instructions for the forms - if you don't pay attention, chances are that you'll miss something, and at very least end up delaying your process unnecessarily as a result.

The only reason I am pointing this out and echoing Harpa's suggestion above is that for all the questions you have asked, 1) the answer is in the instructions, and 2) in cases where you're not still 100% sure, the answer could have easily been fund from VJ or through google. Reading comprehension - attention to detail - common sense. Those will get you very far in this process.
