Jarrod&Vicky said it best. There are a number of variables that could hold a petition back from being approved before others. There is no one logical sequence to pin point here. In other words, dates of approvals NEVER coincide with dates submitted. Other than knowing the month, there is no way of telling which day they will approve next. The anxiety does kill though and make you wonder all kinds of things. Your mind is trying to make sense of something you have little to no information on (the shroud of darkness that is the waiting for what goes on behind closed doors at USCIS). There should be more information and less misinformation indeed. The misinformation only stresses us and confuses us more. I recently replied to a poster that contacted USCIS and told them about VisaJourney. The representative told them not to go by information here as it is not official. Okay. VisaJourney may not be "official", but you will get more official information here than you will get from one of them! Even if it is a gray area like waiting for your approval while someone that filed after you got approved, I am giving you more information than they ever would. The first time I called USCIS, they told me they weren't backlogged. Then, the very same rep. told me that waiting longer than normal was due to the volume of that particular petition! Contradictive much?! So see, there is nothing really consistent at this stage at least. It is very frustrating indeed. I am confident yours(all April filers as well) is coming any day now, and it will feel like a ton of bricks was lifted off your back when it does. I still think calling and putting on the pressure after 6 months would help some. Sooner or later, the "system" will allow for a service request, or a higher up can surely bypass and manually put one in.

I am so grateful for VJ because of the support from members like you. This has been a very painful and unfair process, but it is a little bearable when I read posts like yours. Thank you so much for your words, and thank you for keeping those who are still waiting for NOA 2 in mind. :star:

I sent in the original Decree of Divorce with the raised seal last Wednesday, 10/24/2012, via Express Mail. Today they updated the status as RFE Response Review. I hope that original with the visible raised seal vs the copy I first sent in with the packet is accepted and our case approved...

Congrats on all recent approvals... Those of you waitin on approvals when u call ask to speak to a tier 2 officer they have more access to information in their system they can go into your file and see what exactly is holding up your case. They are much more helpful... Hope it helps!!!

On another note waiting upon the arrival of hurricane Sandy NYC is completely shut down :-(

Thanks for the information. I have spoken to a tier 2 officer twice within the last couple of days and on each occasion even though they were polite and pulled up my case info, I got the same response from both. "VSC is currently processing March 5 petions so your's is not out of normal processing times. When your case has reached 45 days past normal processing times we can put in a service request for you but not until that time. Thank you for calling VSC and is their anything else I can do for you?" They obviously are scripted as well and are giving the same untruthful information since we know they are processing April and have even begun on some May petitions. The system is not just but it appears there is nothing to do but wait..... and wait some more.

I just called uscis and the rep told me they updated the processing time to April 16.

Well that's better news than I have been getting. At least that's only a few days away from my timeline and not too far from your's either. Thanks for the update.

I just got home today from spending a few days with my sweetie on a cruise and decided to check the status of our case. This is what I found:

On October 25, 2012, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please follow any instructions on the notice. If you move before you receive the notice, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

Even though we had signed up for text and email notice- I never received anything!!!

In any case- I'm super happy about this!!! Yay!!!

I called the VSC an hour ago and told them that I was not pleased of their way of doing things. I was tired and frustrated of the same song. As an American and Tax payer I don't deserve such treatment. The lady told me she understand my frustration and she will try her best to update my case. an hour later I received an approval . Thanks God this long wait has come to the end. I keep all of you still waiting on my prayer. God Bless everybody

You're welcome! I am equally as grateful, and I want to see progress for all. When I have time, I don't mind sharing information or giving support. We all can relate to the roller coaster of emotions this process puts on us.

Good luck! I don't see what more you could do. If it is the original copy of the decree straight from the court, it should suffice in my interpretation of the matter. I hope you guys get a speedy turn around and approval.

Congrats to the new approvals!

Not many people posting in this thread compared to the other monthly threads. So am I one of the last to be approved from April or are there others who are just silent? Any feedback would be appreciated

I guess I can't speak for everyone but we are an April filer and got approved Tuesday. 1st NOA April 10th with an RFE. Was an easy one, looks like our lawyer missed the question that asks if I'm a criminal. He corrected and sent back and we received approval about two weeks later.

what exactly are you looking for?

i found the best way to examine the progress of my peers was through timelines. you can sort based on the most recent noa2 approval dates or you can view either approved or pending april petitions.
