Mar completed her medical yesterday with some harrassment from St. Lukes Medical Center staff. The elderly lady working the check-in desk kept insisting Mar provide her with an apporval letter from NVC. Mar only had the appointment letter from USEM as she is a K-1. The lady insisted so I called NVC and USEM. They both said the lady was wrong. Mar was allowed to complete day one with the lady calling her a liar and still asking for the NVC letter. Day 2 she received immunizations, CD, and papers. Nothing was mentioned about the NVC letter. I think this was just another filipina on a power trip but it upset Mar a lot, and she was very worried about her day 2 experience.

Congrats on the medical! What a shame for the harassment. Their website clearly says "Appointment letter from the Embassy OR Instruction letter from the National Visa Center (NVC)". Don't you just love people trying to make your life more complicated than it really is.

I just wanted to thank everybody in this group and let them know that we got our interview date. It's November 29th at 9:00 am. They actually offered me a spot on the 27th but on that day I'm flying back to Argentina from the vacation we've been taking with Jarrod, so we asked if they could move it and they did.

We can't complain at all at this stage. As neurotic as I am I had the packet 3 ready to be delivered the moment they asked for it, but the embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina is so efficient and works so fast!

I'll make it for the holidays! :-)

Congrats that is fantastic news! I am finding everyone is helpful once you get your NOA2 the NVC was great and so far the Australian Embassy is helpful. We got our packet 3 notification today! Getting my paperwork together to send now.

Does anybody know how to process a wedding invitation for your Filipino family? We would love to have my Mom and Sisters (9&11 y.o)to attend our wedding in NY. We would also want to ask about the timeline for the said process. Any help will be much appreciated.

Good for you! Ours is coming soon too..yikes! Very nervous but anxiously awaiting it all to be over with too. I think I can handle the rest of the journey more easily and calmly with my love by my side. God bless and good luck to us huh!

Now all I have to do is pack my stuff and wait for the POE on December 14th!!

I agree with Todd with this, that there is OR but even me the guy in the window was asking for the appointment letter AND NVC Letter.What I only got is one xerox copy of NVC letter that's why i rush out and have it photocopied. I wasn't ready coz what's on the website was OR but I was thankful that i did bring the NVC Letter. St Lukes must change it into AND not just put OR on it.

It is not up to St Lukes to change the wording or the policy. The policy is set by USEM and they shall abide by what the embassy contracts them to do. I even called the embassy and they are very clear that only the appointment letter is required at St lukes.
