Sorry, I meant to write February. Anyway, I got Pkt 4 yesterday, 10 April. I hope this helps others to approximate their wait at the current time.

I was looking through all the other posts seeing if anyone else was waiting a long time, thanks for the reassurance! My packet 3 was received by them on the 20th of March, so i'm just over 3 weeks waiting at the moment. So frustrating when we've already been waiting so long :\

in the past they do, if they can.

but since Feb-March this year has been so busy for them (we don't know if it's true or for some other reason), they may not. but we can try.

Congratulations on getting your interviews, guys!

I just sent packet 3 away, so I'm expected to wait about 3 weeks?

Yes wait about 3 weeks.

They replied quite quickly, saying it's not possible to move it forward. I will change my ticket then.

My interview is 17 April. I booked my ticket for 20 April several weeks ago, not anticipating the wait for Pkt 4 would stretch out for so long. I've cancelled that flight and wont rebook until I have my visa in hand. We've also had to cancel/postpone our wedding and hotel, etc. But now it's all happening, we're happy again!

Cheers!

PS. This is my 2nd application for a K1 visa. To those who are waiting for their interview, relax! The interview is the easiest part of the process. Providing you have all your paperwork and there's nothing 'unusual' about your case, there wont be a problem. It's really only a 'rubber stamp' job. Enjoy the experience!

Hi Athena,

We booked our flights, hotels, wedding planner (we're meeting up in Hawaii for our wedding) not expecting having to wait so long for Pkt 4! My US fiancee actually asked her member of congress to intervene, which we suspect has helped bring forward our interview. We have now cancelled all our bookings and look forward to re-booking when we have the visa in hand.

The consulate is generally helpful with changing interview dates, but I can't give you any assurances in your situation. Just be prepared to change your flight if necessary.

Hope this helps!

Cheers.

I emailed them on Wednesday about moving up my interview and I got a reply Friday. They said they just had a cancellation and my fiance could interview April 24 instead of May 1. It's crazy how excited I am over 1 week. :)

Sorry for the double post, but I have a quick question. I was given another I-134 Affidavit of Support form with this email and it's part of the checklist. I sent the completed form with Packet 3, though. The original one too. Is it by default they're asking for this? They didn't mention in the email that there was a problem with the one I sent, so I think it might be by default. I just want to make sure though. :P

Also, where did you get your 2x2 inch photo of yourself?
