I just want to be completely sure that my fianceé is not going to have any issues when she arrives. The difference in price for a round trip ticket from the Philippines is more than double the cost of a one way ticket. So ...

Has anybody had any negative experiences with a one-way ticket to the USA on the K-1 visa?

Thanks, everybody. The last time I asked a question here, I was flooded with really good information. :D

A one-way is perfectly fine. She is coming on a K-1 and won't be able to leave and re-enter the US again until after she is married to you and files for AOS and has AP or her green card. No one is expecting a K-1 to have a round trip ticket just in case you do not marry and she needs to leave before her 90 days are up. Most people purchase whichever is cheaper at the time.

I had the opposite ticket issue. A R/T was about 30% less than a one way. So I just got a R/T and did not use the return portion. If INS had seen this (they did not) and were to ask why she had a R/T for a K1, I would tell them R/T were so much cheaper.

I agree you will not have any issues with a one way.

I'm going myself on Thursday. I don't expect any issues... other than my bag being overweight!
