Will someone please tell me what fees have to be paid at the interview? My fiancee and I are disputing whether or not there is a biometrics fee in addition to the visa fee. I know that there is also a fee for the DHL service, but she lives in Moscow. So, she doesn't need that service.

Also, how will I know when the embassy receives my packet from the NVC? We want to schedule our interview ASAP, but I don't want to schedule it too soon. We just got the case number today and they told me that haven't forwarded it yet, but that they would soon. On average, it takes about a week (7 days, not business days), right?

Do you think we'd be safe to go ahead and make an appointment? Can we just re-schedule the appointment without penalties? We have everything that we need for the interview already.

DHL is out, Pony Express is in.

There are no biometrics done....so no fee for that.

The Pony Express process is the only one available, regardless of where she lives.

It is correct that we shouldn't schedule an interview until after the embassy receives the information from the NVC, right? Also, do you know if there is any charge for re-scheduling the interview, if possible?

I they don't have your case number they can't schedule anything that references it.

No charge, back in 2009, for rescheduling, was done with a simple email.

We were setting up our account online for the interview scheduling, and the visa fee was set at $350. Do you think that will automatically adjust on the 13th of April?

Also, can we schedule the interview online and pay at the time of the interview? Or do we have to do it at the time of scheduling? I thought I read before that it was paid after the interview...

You'll need to read up on the new process; there are many recent threads here in the RUB forum for that info.

Way back in 2009 things was different!

Can we schedule the interview on the usatraveldocs website and just pay at the interview? What's required to schedule the interview (the MOS number)? What is required to enter the embassy? I mean, does my fiancee need to have some form to show that she has an interview, does she have to show that she's already paid through Pony Express, etc.?

Someone who just went through the interview process about a month ago told me that they could not pay online, even when they tried two different cards...

This is what it says on the Moscow Embassy website:

"Payment. Please pay the application fee ($350 dollars for each applicant) ON THE DAY OF THE INTERVIEW only after an Embassy employee instructs you to do so. We accept dollars and rubles. Credit cards are not acceptable. "

Emailing the Embassy always worked for me when there was any question.

I believe if you read through the recent threads describing the new online system they will tell you there is a disconnect between the website and reality. Find those recent threads and/or those specific posters and ask the questions direct.

I e-mailed the embassy last week, and I haven't received a reply yet...

I just got a response back. She cannot schedule the interview until she receives the invitation from the embassy. Also, the payment can be made online, at a bank, or Pony Express. The earliest appointment available for an interview is on May 15 right now :((((
