Hi All,

You've all been such a great help throughout our visa journey and we've come to the Interview section. We received the standard letter stating the date and time of our interview etc. The part that has me a little tricked is the checklist of things we are supposed to take. In the sections its saying to bring such and such..... unless already submitted is that actually true that if i sent it with my application i don't need to re submit it or should i just bring the whole AOS packet? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Bring it along with your originals (marriage certificate, birth certificate, passport, I-94, etc.) all your evidence of bone fide relationship. Most likely you will bring your AOS packet for nothing, but it's better than getting an RFE after the interview.

US citizen since April 2016

ROC completed April 2014

AOS from K1 completed February 2012

Hey All,

Just an update. We got approved on the spot! The interview went so smoothly and only lasted about 10 minutes all up. He quickly went over our paperwork and everything was in check. He then asked my husband(even though i'm the alien) to explain how we met, where, how long ago, when we decided to get married, where we got married and how life is now that we're married. He didn't ask me any questions which was surprising but I offered up some comments during his questioning which he seemed fine with. I offered to show him our wedding photo album which he said was beautiful as i'm sure he would say to any newly married couple lol and he asked if i would like to submit any paperwork of our joint assets. I gave him our joint bank account statements, our joint phone and cable bills, two joint leases we've had in our relationship, and our joint medical insurance. He didn't even look it all over and then said he was happy to tell us our application was successful and approved and that we will receive my greencard in 3-4 weeks time. An hour after we left we got the email notice from the USCIS for the change in our application. WOOHOO! SOOOO HAPPY! My husband was stunned at how smoothly it all went and surprised that we had put 3 hrs on the parking meter and it only really took 30 minutes from the time we stepped into the building. Overall this has been a great day. THANKYOU so much everyone for your help. And a MASSIVE goodluck to anyone else who has the interviews in the near future. Don't sweat it.
