Hey everyone!

I am getting ready to send off my petition for my fiance! I think I have all my info gathered as this website has been so informative. But before i send it off I have a few questions and looking for those of you that have experience with this! Thank you all for you help (in advance!)

First, my back story...

I am an American citizen and my fiance is British. We met online and have known each other for 3 years. We officially met when I came to visit in July 2010. I researched back in the US to get a UK visa and spoek to several so called "immigration" experts, which were really peopl trying to squeeze me out of money. But on their bad advice I moved to the UK without my Visa finalized. I never got a Visa (never even applied for a UK Visa) and have been an overstayer for a year and a half now. But we are trying to do things correctly to move to the US. I have plenty of family support back home, and I have my job waiting for me as well to return to. I hope that is enough info for my backstory.

My questions are:

1. Since I am currently living in the UK on my petition and my 325 form should I put my British address as my current address?

2. Should I attach a letter explaining why I am currently living in the UK illegally?

3. My proof of evidence are pictures and boarding passes, and tenancy agreement, is ther anything else I can use to establish proof? Or is this enough?

Thank you all again for your responses! We are so excited to be getting this process going and can't wait to start our life in the US!

Cheers!

The USCIS doesn't care about immigration laws for other countries.

I agree but would like to add that OP still has to prove that they have met once within the last 2 years. Hopefully the proof of having met is still within those 2 years at the time of filing the petition. They do care about foreign fiance(e) having his/her interview in the UK, and being legally in the country.

Pictures, boarding passes, lease/contract are ok. Passport stamps(scan/copies) are good too, the same with ATM receipts/bank transcripts.

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days
