I am thankful I finally got a break. I think the Government felt sorry for me due to the amount of taxes I am paying Uncle Sam on the 15th. I am happy my fiancee did not expedite her passport now. Nice little savings. SOrry to those who just filed.....

I am trying to research and find out if we qualify for the lower fee. The Haiti Consulate has received our case, but we have not yet turned in any of the forms or paid for the appointment.

Are we eligible to wait and pay the new fee, or since the Consulate already has our case and we are "in progress" would we need to pay the old fee? I am trying to decide whether to wait a week or not.

The only reason this week is important to me, is that I live in Haiti right now too, and I am leaving May 26. We are really hoping to have all of this finished so my fiance can travel with me. He has never been to America, so I want us to be able to go together.

Can we pay the fees on-line or must we do it in person?

Im under the impression that YES because the visa fee is paid at the embassy it does not state anywhere that its for new cases.

I just scheduled an interview online this morning for May 16, 2012 (earliest available). I had to pay the visa fee by bank, card, or Russian Post before we could schedule it (for the MRV Receipt Number). It cost $380.14 using my VISA card with USD for the $350 K-1 fee.

Only if you pay on or after the 13th will your fees go down. However, if you expect that your visa type will go up, you will have to pay the increased price if you don't do it by April 13th.

• Nov 14, 2011 - I-129F packet sent.

• Nov 15, 2011 - Packet received and signed by (J. Authur)

• Nov 18, 2011 - NOA1 (Notice by text message and Email)

• Mar 02, 2012 - NOA2 (Notice by text message and Email) [Took 105 days]

• Mar 07, 2012 - NOA2 Hard copy arrived by mail.

• Mar 19, 2012 - NVC recieved my case.

• Mar 20, 2012 - NVC fowarded my case to US embassy in DR.

• April 05, 2012 - DOS gave us our interview date. (May 14th)

Thanks for sharing, Scafidi. Did you additionally pay at the appropriate bank in advance of making the interview appointment? I hope instructions on Package 3 & 4 will be clear.
