SSN w/ EAD on B1?

So I've been reading pages and pages of SSN topics, however everyone seems to be applying for their SSN when on K1 or K3. I am adjusting my status from a B1 visa. If/when I receive my EAD will I be eligible for an SSN with my B1 I-94? Thanks!

You just need the EAD (and your passport). Don't bring the I-94 - it will confuse things (B1 is not eligible for SSN so that document does not help show you are entitled to one).

But my i-94 will be in my passport, and I was under the impression I have to show an unexpired I-94. I know B1 in general is not entitled to an SSN but was wondering if with an EAD even though I am adjusting from a B1, I was eligible for an SSN. In theory I assume I am, since if I have the right to work, I need an SSN right? UGH.... there's a reason for choosing sciences over humanities.

No, you are mixing stuff for K-1 in with your search. Ignore any I-94 stuff and SSN. It is not relevant in your case. That is only for K-1 people. I already told you you are eligible for SSN once you have your EAD. Don't try to show your I-94.

The difference is that K-1 is eligible for a SSN based solely on the unexpired I-94. A B1 is never eligible for a SSN based on a I-94. B1 is not eligible for SSN, period. You will become eligible based on the fact that you have an EAD in hand. Don't try to "add" to that the fact that you have an I-94 which shows you to be ineligible.
