Anyone hear anything about the EURO2012... Basically entire month of June will be Ukraine / Poland traveling Europeans. Just wondering if it will be more difficult to book apartment in Kiev during this month... (though games are all over the country)... Or if flights will be more expensive or booked?? Anyone going to a game?

I would imagine it will affect apartment availability and flight prices. We just bought very reasonably priced tickets but for travel in July-August. Donetsk (our home city) is one of the venues and we are talking to a friend about renting out our flat. She is a real estate agent in Donetsk so maybe we can snag some $$$ off the deal. My MIL will flip out!

We have strategically avoided Donetsk during the games.

From what my wife hears, if you haven't booked an apartment yet, you are probably out of luck or will pay really high prices. She heard that some people are planning to live in tight quarters for the Euro 2012 and rent out their apartments for a lot of money. If you plan on going, start now there still might be something available or contact friends or friends of friends to get some kind of deal.

This is a really big deal for Ukraine so many residents are hoping for a big pay day because the economy is so bad. Watch out for scams.
