I want to ship my Recording studio equipment when I leave, but its very pricey, has anyone got any experience and suggestions. I have about 700KG in music equipment. Including drums, keyboards, speakers, mixing console, rack units and computer systems. if anyone has any recommendations im all ears!!

The "cheapest" way is to get your stuff into a container that will be shipped by boat. It takes a long time (count over a month, maybe more), and it's not actually cheap. You need to get in touch with an international transport company.

USCIS STAGE: 16 days No expedite request but USC residing abroad
NVC STAGE: 19 days from case # to case complete
03/27/12: interview at Paris embassy - APPROVED
04/12/12: POE San Diego

ROC
01/15/14: sent I-751 application

05/14/14: received card production notification by e-mail, approval date 05/13

Naturalization

02/01/24: N-400 submitted online; Biometrics reuse notice received immediately online; "case being actively reviewed" after a couple hours

02/09/24: received NOA1 by mail

02/10/24: received biometrics reuse notice by mail

04/08/24: interview scheduled for 05/14. Received "We have taken an action in your case" email.

05/14/24: approved at interview, same-day oath ceremony in San Francisco 🥳 🇺🇸

 

Passport

06/10/24: application submitted at post office for passport book and card, paid for expedited processing and shipping

06/24/24: received email notification that passport was approved, then shipped with tracking number

06/25/24: passport received

I would add that you will want to find out what it will cost to get the container picked up after it goes thru customs & moved to a location where you or others can access it. The international transport company can advise you or there are speciality companies to do this.

I'm a bit silly where some of the things you are bringing are listed, but I just wondered if all of it will work here in the USA?

Most computer gear will allow you to flip the little switch on the power supply to switch voltage, but I was wondering about your other bits and bobs, given the issue of 240 volts in UK, 110 in USA. PAL and NTSC systems.

It worked out to be less expensive for me, on any of my many overseas moves, to replace rather than ship.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I am going to used them when i move over the pond to ship my house contents, i got quotes from 8 different companies and found these the best to work with!

207 days since NOA1.

Tommy arriving Saturday 25th August

Yipee!!!

APPROVED!!!!

Tommy went home 5th Sept

Visa arrived in mail 5th Sept

POE Dublin on Oct 3rd 2012
