I just got off the phone with NVC and found out that they issued a checklist for my wife's IV packet. The operator told me it was missing her divorce decree. I am 100% sure I included her divorce decree in the packet. My guess is that they don't recognize it. In Chile the divorce decree looks exactly the same as the marriage certificate. The only difference is that there is an annotation that the marriage was terminated in divorce. This same document was accepted by USCIS and I confirmed through the Santiago Embassy website that this was the correct document.

What are my options at this point? Can I email NVC and ask them to recheck for this document? Considering I already sent the original copy it would take a few days and some steep fees to get another copy sent to the NVC. I really want to get case closed by the end of the week so we are in the queue for interview scheduling, assuming they are released next week.

The good news is that my step-daughters IV packet was accepted and her case was closed.

Call into NVC, get a Supervisor.

Explain all to the Supervisor,

then

ask the Supervisor to initiate a request for an eyeball review of the document that you say is there in the casefile.

Good Luck !

[do it verbatim as written above? takes about a week once the phone call is finished]

I love this online, electronic processing! Submitted DS-261 (agent form) online. Completed. Paid AOS bill...status in process. Then the fun begins, of emailing all paperwork!

yeeeeeeeeeeee haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawhr !!! EP rocks !

Wow this is what i am struggling to avoid. My wife delivery is in July, but sometimes the babys want to come before lol, i am praying God that i have an interview in May

Can Pray to yer wife's little finger, instead? you know, that finger that punches buttons on the telephone, to get to NVC to ask for expedite?

That'd be cool, as a Deity. You might get some movement, after that.

NVC is trying to play smart with me with their script :" Interview are scheduled every 2nd week, please call April 15th", I said ok, They know i will not wait that long to give them a call, they know that so what is the point of asking me that?

Alas, they know it's you. Why to call for interview now, when you really want an approved expedite request?

I am convinced you truly have no concern to learn NVC manipulation.

Hey Guys my AOS has been invoiced and hubby received 2 emails from NVC but one was for me.

the USCItizen/Petitioner -->> 2 emails in inbox --> is most likely the DS-3032 kit collection ; a piece of that is the AOS Fee bill.

The switch is on.

you send off the DS-3032 email template thingie , or no ?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Question.......If NVC does request a document from you,(RFE)that will take some time based on the country you are from. Can you ask them if you can provide the document at the time of interview?

you can ask, but mostly it'll be ignored,

as

NVC Casefile Processing is pegged to go on for up to a year, in between things ..

you know, things.. .

like..

the ds-3032

then the I-864

then the DS-230 ..

you've about a year to finish up..

it takes less than a year to get the documents you need.

You can wait for both to be invoiced, then pay. Or pay one at a time, then send in both the AOS and IV in one package. You have to wait until both are paid and show paid before you send anything.

The DS-3032 has to be accepted before the IV is invoiced. Once the 3032 is accepted you should get an IV invoice in a day or so. The day after my 3032 was accepted we got the AOS invoice, four days after that(two being a weekend) we got the IV invoice.

Keep in mind AOS and IV are two different paths. The majority of the time the AOS is invoiced first and IV second.

AOS and IV are parallel, separate paths.

The IV Fee Bill being payable is totally dependent on the DS-3032 being added to the casefile.

so, from a fee bill standpoint

can pay the bills when ever they show up

and

can send off all in one big mailer after both fee bills are marked 'paid' back at the online payment portal.

Good Luck !
