Well, I have finally gotten my Case number and IIN, wooohooooo! However, I have a few questions for Saylin or anyone that can help because I got a mean lady on the phone with NVC and she made me really nervous and tongue-tied.

1. I tried to give her my and my spouse's email addresses and she said she didn't need them because she already has them, and everything will be emailed to us. So should I try calling back or just leave it at this (the lady didn't even let me read her our email addresses).

2. I am about to send in the DS3032 via email, but how will I know if they have accepted it? Do they ALWAYS send a rejection email if it is not accepted? If so, how soon after receiving it?

3. What should my next step be after sending the DS3032? I just logged in to the Payment Portal, but it won't let me select either the AOS Fee or IV Fee. Should I wait a few days?

Thanks!

whoa.

Ask the USCitizen Spouse to call in, repeat the pattern of inquiry that yer attempting to do.

if YOU are the USCitizen Spouse, then keep at it; bear in the mind the 'Mean Ladies Club at NVC' suffers from a beat down ever 2.5 hours..

Thanks for the feedback, Dimples and Neela & Jitu. Just wondering....if I got my case number today....how long do you think it will be before they send the invoicing emails?

4.5 to 6.9 days.

lizka is right, they won't mark your case complete until they have all the documents. Waiting till the interview isn't an option. Have you called and asked if your IV package has been reviewed yet?

Got it...just asking..hopefully I wont have any issues! I have called they have not reviewed it yet.

I think I might have figured out what's causing the AOS issue.. other than they're morons.

I had to claim $1,300.00 of scholarship money that was not used for educational expenses last year. When one has to do that, it goes on line 7 of the 1040 as salaries, wages and tips etc.

According to instructions you write SCH and the amount after that line, and that is what I did. I bet their thinking I should have a W2 for that $1300.00, because someone doesn't know how to read tax forms.

Anyway I sent them the Schedule C, so we'll see what happens next. If that doesn't make them happy, I guess I can send them my award paper showing I have the $1300.00 granted as a scholarship.

LOL...yeah, I didn't even mention the address error in the expedite letter. I think they let the new monkeys loose on my file LOL. And they must not have fed them enough bananas :P At least with the address, it was a former address - but we had formally changed it with USCIS and the update should have been included with our package. GAH!

OMG.

New Monkeys.

Alas, they had their sh|t-throwing contests whilst yer casefile was open.

and things from yer casefile got smeared.

Then the data entry folk tried to read stuff, and got bamboozled by the stains and smears.

It's amazing yer alive, at all, back at NVC - cause of the Monkees' hourly sh|t-throwing contests.

Want to sling yer own sh|t ? Get on with the Ombudsman, files a multi-point, multi-faceted complaint, today.

It won't speed yer casefile along, at all, but you'll get to talk to a different office, for a bit.

[for those of you who've never seen a monkey sh|t-throwing contest, you really need to get out to the zoo, hit the primates hut, soonish]

I've heard of people from Bangladesh gettinginto AP, not uncommon at all...

Yep Yep Yep.

If'n yer in Canada,

and weren't BORN in Canada,

then expect AP, anywhere from 24 hours to 90 days.

If'n yer Muslim or Muslima, expect at least 3 weeks, up to 90 days.

This is just such a blatant discrimination, I don't see how it can be justified at all. Everyone just complains about the length and the process but the overall discrimination against muslims doesn't really matter. What kind of society is this? in the USA, it's a society where Muslim Extreme-ists commandeered Airplanes and blew up or tried to blow up big honking buildings. Since then? Every Muslim in the Immigration Chain gets extra-special scrutiny. 'allah...Ins.. Inshallah...

Another trend I have noticed is that Middle Eastern Countries might be more selective in handing out APs to females as they send a lot of cases to AP but in other countries, people of muslim origin get placed in AP nearly all the time. I have seen cases of people in the UK and in Canada being placed in AP, some who were even born in the country and only had parents from a muslim country.

yup. it's a PITA. 9/11 changed all. It's a shame, really, but it is what it is.

It looks like most of these (did you mean Muslim casefiles? heck no - it was always because they are Muslim, no other reason )were for missing papers or needing more information so if everything is well prepared there shouldn't be an issue. However in countries where AP is rare, when they do place people in AP it is usually a long duration. There was a Pakistani lady from Canada who was in AP for 70 days I think in February , her name was with an F but I don't remember exactly. Yesterday another Pakistani woman in Canada was placed in AP. I am following that one closely. I think the cahnces would have been better in a muslim country than in a place like Canada.

I sympathize, much, but - it is what is is. Folk messed it up for you and yours, you get extra special research. It sucks, really.

Saylin another good news is on DS 260 form Goole Translator works.

Yes Stockholm are dealing with visas for 3 countries, besides sweden they got Norway and Denmark too..But from what I gathered from the email the embassy sent me the cut downs are only for the summer starting in June... Not that that makes me feel any better though..

That's called Summer Vacation.

Look, you.. Most Fed Jobs overseas mirror the local holidays.

In Europe, folk are 'gone from work' during summer.

What's up? Why you not know this?

80 percent of the staff at the IV unit are locals, not USCitizen Employees.

us embassy in spain has stopped seeing non-us citizens all together, which is ridiculous. can't even call them, and when you do, they charge my husband several euros just to connect.

Blame it on the Romanians and the piece of Romanian Diaspora into Spain.

No, I'm not kidding.

NVC told me that they don't send the paperwork to Madrid until an interview date is assigned, can I call the consulate in Madrid myself to ask for a date???

You can certainly try, but why to bother?

you really wish to bypass the NVC Scheduling process?

The daily call to the NVC is completed, Abby sounded well tired when she answered hopefully her shift ends soon :P

Anyways no interview but my expedite had been successfully forwarded to the embassy...

excellent ! Now you wait.

Woo woo, expedite is under review and choice of agent accepted. YEE HAW! :D:thumbs:

aha ! gadzooks ! movement ! keep at it !

Hmmm funny thing just happened. I received a "Checklist" from NVC, asking me to submit the IV Application and Forms. (We have not submitted the IV Package yet, we're waiting for 1 police record).

Has anyone gotten something like this before? I find it funny that NVC is rushing me to send all the papers, when we're usually the ones rushing THEM.... lol

No, this never happens to anybody. IMO, you are suffering as a victim of identity theft..

[ok la, sarcasm off]

actually, this is covered in the posts before yours. Are you reading stuff in this thread from a PC using a Web Browser? IF NOT - you should, as handphones suck for VJ Usage during NVC Processing.

Just got off the phone with my wife, she just makes me smile. She was at a doctor 's appointment, they made ultrasound for her, she is 6 months now. They congratulate her because the baby is very active, was playing in her belly and that she is very beautiful. They took 3D pictures of her, they keeps saying that baby is so so beautiful. i am so proud... She looks like me, she got my wife's eyes and her sister's nose and my face... :innocent:

Hey ! You have Time ! Yer wife can finish up with the documents required for the expedite request, now. It's only 8 PM CST.

I am sorry to ask this question, i am not a native english speaker, what does mushy mean? wouldn t you mind giving me another synonym?

Emotionally Unavailable for Copulation, usually.

First time being father, it is a nice feeling. Well i do not know if it is the same feeling for all men but i am already imagining how i am going to play with my daughter, she is going to be daddy little princess.

Is she gonna complain about the expedite request?

Sometimes, i wonder how grateful we all are to this website. There is nothing like this anywhere on WORLD WIDE WEB known as the INTERNET!

I mean the sheer amount of information we get from VJ. So much so that i just couldn't imagine tackling this journey w/o VJ.

So much so that I wouldn't mind paying a membership fee for it. NOT THAT I'M SAYING VJ should start chargin.

I'm JUST SAYING how immensely helpful VJ has been to me on this long, difficult and unpredictable journey.

Thank you VJ. :)

Hey ! Yer Welcome ! Now pay it forward, after POE.

ok ok - after POE, a shower, and a 2 day nap.

...ummm...checklist received for I-864 documents so I sent them. The checklist asked specifically for these, SO...you want it, you got it. Lol.

Hey, if they don't like it - I'll just resend it. I'm good at that :)

I say email 7 times today, as you need to break the box, like FooBaz has done.
