Question.......If NVC does request a document from you,(RFE)that will take some time based on the country you are from. Can you ask them if you can provide the document at the time of interview?

Ugh. NVC is so painfully unhelpful sometimes...

Me: "I received a checklist that appeared to ask for every document I have left to send. I am confused. What exactly do you want?"

Them: "We are waiting for you to send the IV application."

Me: "Yes I know that. You haven't invoiced me for it yet so I can't pay it or access the online form."

Them: "Then we're waiting for the AOS documents to be emailed."

Me: "I did that as soon as you sent the checklist, because I misread it to mean you wanted those already. They are in your inbox."

Them: "We need to process them."

Me (in my head): "No kidding...you're a rocket scientist."

Them: "we received some documentation..."

Me: "Yes, you did. I submitted an expedite request yesterday."

Them: "We are waiting on the results of that from the embassy."

Me: "This has been most unhelpful. Thank you."

Them: "Can I help you with anything else?"

Me: (in my head) "You HELPED??" (out loud) "No, thank you. Bye."

And yes, I spoke to a few agents. Jeez. Swift, swift monkeys...

take a look at my timeline, it usually takes no time at all since your case was reviewed and just that piece of info is missing, you CANNOT not send it, because that pending document is what is standing between you and your CC. So I would say, you get a checklist, get the info ASAP and mail it overnight express, it will only take a couple days after to finish the inspection and see if you have another checklist coming or if your package has been accepted. Now if you're missing a big document like a translated and certified document, then you may have to wait a bit longer

lizka is right, they won't mark your case complete until they have all the documents. Waiting till the interview isn't an option. Have you called and asked if your IV package has been reviewed yet?

Ok so.. finally got the AOS checklist in my email.. I was way ahead of NVC in the game

They are indeed asking for W2s for 2011. I called this evening to make sure I sent the right information and if I should send something else.

I talked to Pauline, who was awesome! Apparently I confused the "jet-boy" (Darnell's reference) who was reviewing my I-864. She went over my AOS and said that marking unemployed and listing student is what messed it up and why they asked for W2's

"Obviously someone didn't read the form properly, so let me make sure I have everything correct to note in your file;

you are a full time student and your business dissolved in 2011.

You marked unemployed on the I-864 and listed Student and the college you attend.

You sent an email yesterday evening with your MTL number in the subject line, you wrote a letter explaining your tax situation and attached the Schedule C for 2011?"

"Yes, m'am."

"That is all we need. It is noted your income is below poverty level and your joint sponsor is sufficient. Someone will review your checklist email, and you'll get an answer in a few days." She also told me my IV package is there and being reviewed "As we speak"

She apparently can see my AOS file, because she told me congratulations for finishing my degree and graduating in May. (I sent a letter from the school stating I'm a full time student, my degree and my estimated graduation date)

Best person I've talked to during this whole thing other than Jim

Now to wait on the AOS checklist documentation to be reviewed.

Good morning people i call NVC they ask me to wait until the second week of April and they will see if they can schedule me an interview in May Isn t that just a script or they were serious about it?

Anyone in here asked for an expedite at NVC?

I asked for an expedite yesterday to be assigned an interview date sooner, probably wont work but it's worth a shot, the email I recieved said it was currently under review. Does anyone know how long it usually takes them to review an expedite request?

2 to 5 days, usually.

The request is forwarded to the Embassy IV Unit, they review it, and if they approve it for expedite (The Embassy IV Unit) then they msg back to NVC to go forward with the expedite.

It's sweet, the way it works, when it works.
