Has anyone been assigned an interview date in the past couple of weeks?

So the way I understand it the NVC receives a list of available interview slots for each embassy and consulate the second week of the month for the following month. They then schedule interviews for those that are waiting to have an interview assigned. They can continue to schedule interviews until they run out of slots and then they have to wait until the list for the next month is released. This would explain why some users report getting their interview date during the third and fourth weeks of the month even though the NVC operators insist they are only scheduled during the second week of the month.

I sure hope there are available slots in May when they schedule the interview date for my wife and step-daughter.

Another hint a friend of mine here in VJ gave me, at least that's how it works with the Colombian Consulate (it may apply to others as well): If you get a Case Completed before the 15th of the month there is a chance you could get schedule in the current availability list for that month, but if your case is Completed after the 15th of the Month you have to wait for the following month's list of available interviews

Chance is a very important word there. I had my case complete on March 10, but only got my interview for May, not April.

So that means I stand a good chance of getting a date in May. Oh Lord, I so hope I do!!! I miss my husband so much, as I'm sure others do too! God bless us all!!!

Sorry for the off-topic livejournal post, I pride myself on not being an emotional baby, but damn it all I really miss my husband tonight. All I can think about is packing up and getting on that flight. Aaarrghhh
