You really need to stop being sad about not having an interview date. You should be HAPPY and GRATEFUL for where you are. The interview date will be assigned so much quicker if you are yes.gif My philosophy: be happy and good things will come.

Agreed. It's been nothing but issues for poor Shell. First Trav's birth date wrong, her name is wrong and Foobaz broke the system before she got there!

To be fair, Trav gave them the wrong copy of the i-130 application, with his birthdate wrong. When I said "please send the corrected one"...that apparently meant "stick this in the mountain of paper that you didn't send." LOL. It was also fixed fast, so I can overlook that one. The rest - inexcusable.

True, it's not double the chances, but I'd rather be calling two places than just one, even if it's a slight chance at getting the interview sooner *shrug* How's that saying go? Don't throw your eggs all in one basket?

And depending what you're using, there is no phone bill ;)

The lady at DOS was much much nicer than Frank at NVC, she didn't have any info for me but she was well nice! I'll call her anyday over Frank

LOL...you're telling me it's ridiculous! If my surname is what bunged up the works, then they'll have it fixed by tonight. End of story or I will be raising an even BIGGER stink with the congressman. I may even sic Mawmaw on them! LOL. (They don't want that, for the record lol...Trav's grandma is getting REALLY mad this is taking so long, worse than Trav's parents even).

Google...maps? Interesting. Intriguing. I may have to check said Google Maps out!

Yeah, I remember my dad was getting pissed off too about this process taking so long. And he got REALLY angry when I was denied the second time at the border. Once we got back to the car (and out of sight of the border officers) my dad threw his passport in the back seat and said some really colorful words about the US.

And yes, I only Google Maps to get all my directions: http://maps.google.com/ Plus, they have this handy "Street View" so, you can see your surroundings in almost 3D which can help at times. For example, the US Consulate in Montreal using Street View: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=US+Consulate,+Montreal,+QC,+Canada&hl=en&ll=45.501414,-73.560419&spn=0.028154,0.073729&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=34.259599,75.498047&oq=us+consulate,+montr&hq=US+Consulate,+Montreal,+QC,+Canada&t=m&z=14&layer=c&cbll=45.504309,-73.565541&panoid=oqMC1JX_ThUgFUGrRump2A&cbp=12,339.08,,0,23.38

Trav's parents/grandmother talk frequently about how proud they WERE to be from the US, how proud they WERE that they've had family there for over 200 years...and how embarrassed they are BECOMING. It's really sad, I mean - he's had family in every single war the US fought in, they are proud patriotic people, and they are becoming disheartened in spite of their patrioticism, all thanks to the bureaucracy. I feel so bad for them :(

OOOOOO Embassy street view!!

I think this would be a great night for disney movie fest! They make ya feel good :D Great way to relax from this mental test lol :)

Oh right, consulate. My bad :P Tee hee :D

His family is heartbroken for their son, and for me, and nearing feelings of shame at all of this. They're encouraging us to stay strong - they came over last night and sat down with us and everything - but it's wearing on them too.

Question, Saylin - what do you think are the odds that my difference in name is what's gumming up the works? The way I figure it, SOMETHING has to be throwing my file into an exception status...and that's the only thing I can think of besides Trav's birthdate.

I enjoy watching them with my kidlets. They range in ages from 15 to almost 7, so I have a long time to keep watching lol

My 13 year old daughter loves Disney and is quite the artist. Her dream is to work in either animation or the music end of the business for Disney. I told her 'why not do both?' She is in the Talented and Gifted Program through her school and on Saturdays she goes to the local community college for classes. She signed up for every art and music class they offered :)
