How long till I get my case completed?

First you need to get a case complete from NVC :P

Typically, on average for most countries, the interview is about two months from case complete. So, if you finish with NVC this month, yours will most likely be around July.

Well, NVC is only taking a few days to review packages. So as soon as both packages have been received, reviewed, and accepted, then you'll have a case complete :)

The operators won't know anything about the packages until an officer has started to review it. Until then, it'll appear as if it's not in the building.

That makes sense...Thanks.

So in a couple of weeks my case should be completed if everything is in order?

If you can send your IV package sometime early next week, and it gets accepted (along with the AOS), then you should have a case complete by the end of next week, or the beginning of the week after yes.gif

That would be awesome...Thanks for all your support

Do you see any chances of NVC rejecting what I have sent them or asking for more evidence?

There's always a chance. I didn't see your actual documents or forms, so I don't know if everything was correct there. But your list of documents looked fine to me.

Saylin,

My husband just had his B1 visa rejected though his employer wanted him to travel to the US very badly in the month of June. I don't know what to do now:(

Have a problem..... rather serious one.....

NVC says they sent the package to the Embassy last week , told me do not email or contact us anymore contact the embassy.

ok contacting the embassy , " we have not received your case nor an approved petition from NVC get information from nvc "

it has literally been over 7 business days and NVC uses DHL and that takes max of 5 days to get anywhere.

So i am quite literally being given the run around by both ends.... The Senators office is doing all they can but They really cant do more then i can in finding where it is.

Messed up thing is it was expedited at NVC and the Embassy agreed to expedite the interview too... But NVC says they sent it and Embassy says they never got it.....

When going through an immigrant visa process, it's typically extremely hard to get a tourist visa as they'll be worried you're trying to do things illegally and just stay in the US permanently instead of returning at the end of the visit.

All I can say is that he's got about 2 more months left and then he'll be in the US permanently. Until then, if you can't travel there to see him, then you won't be seeing each other.

Hmm, if you requested an expedite and it got approved, then NVC would send the case to the embassy. Although it doesn't take long for a case to be shipped there, it might still take the embassy a few days to input your case. So, your case may just be sitting in their mailroom and that's why they don't know anything.

When you call NVC, I suggest asking for the SPECIFIC date that they sent your case to the embassy. Call again and again, asking the same question (minimum of 5 times). If you get the same answer from all the operators, then you can be assured they sent it on that date. With this date, you can try tracking your case on DHL and see when your case arrived at the embassy.
