I have a small perforation (hole) in my heart. It was found in 2005, and I just finished all my stress tests and such this past year. It's a very common heart defect. When you are in utero, this hole is open to allow blood to pass through your heart and bypass your lungs, as fetuses take oxygen from blood. It is naturally supposed to close by 2 years old, but mine didn't. For some people they cause problems (as bad as strokes), but for most they don't - my cardiologist told me 33% of people are walking around with it and will never know. It's actually quite rare that they are found.

Anyway, the letter is from my cardiologist to my GP with some of my test results, my current condition and his overall prognosis (a good one.) I figured I would bring it just in case.

My oldest son has the same thing, and so does my brother. My brother's was found by accident when he was 11. I had shot him with a BB gun, our mom took him to the ER and it showed up on an xray, but they weren't sure where it was or if it had damaged his heart. It was actually embedded in his sternum, and was taken out easily. (I felt really really really bad) So he had to have a bunch of tests and that's when they found the hole. He was fine, and is fine today. In retaliation a few months later he threw a screw driver at me and it stuck in my thigh. I still have a scar from it 23 years later :P

My son's was found during an ultra sound of his pulmonary artery to make sure he did not have pulmonary hypertension. (he doesn't, thank goodness)

I still have not got my case number. my NOA2 notice date is April 4th. i was told by Saylin that they are backed up. i did email NVCResearch regarding this matter. This is their reply:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your

inquiry. Unfortunately, we do not have any record of receiving your

petition. If your petition was approved more than 15 days ago, please

email a scanned copy of your I-797 or I-171 Notice of Action - Approval

Notice to NVCResearch@state.gov. Please type the receipt number in the

subject line of your email and include one attachment/case per email. We

will contact U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on your

behalf to locate your petition.

They mention, "we do not have any record of receiving your petition."

QUESTIONS:

1) Does that mean that it may have gotten lost in the mail? Or has not even arrived at the NVC facility?

2) Or does it mean that it has arrived at the NVC and they just haven't gotten to it yet due to them being backed up?

1) call USCIS and find out if it has been sent to NVC yet. They are sent in batches. Yours is probably with MCMs.. somewhere.

2) scan and email NVC your NOA2 so they can better research where your case file is.

That's what I thought too. Think I'm just showing up at 7:15 and going with it. Much like the interview - showing up at 6:30 and going with it.

**edit - just checked my confirmation email. The nurse told me to show up between 7:30 and 9 AM. So...7:15 it is!**

Thanks Saylin, but I think they're only able to change my appointment with this number. It asked me to enter the petitioner's passport number and date of birth, but I held up because I didn't want to enter some kind of automated menu that would change her interview date.

If you read the first paragraph on that link, those phone numbers are more than just changing interview dates. It specifically states to "get information". Just continue with the prompts.

And/or call DOS.

Just got an email from NVC in regards to Immigrant Visa Application Invoice. I think its the IV bill but when I login to Payment Portal that Bill is not appearing to pay. I received the email 42 Mins ago. Do you think may be I am too early?

Even though you have the email, it can still be a few days before it's invoiced.

I still have not got my case number. my NOA2 notice date is April 4th. i was told by Saylin that they are backed up. i did email NVCResearch regarding this matter. This is their reply:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your

behalf to locate your petition.

NVC is definitely backed up. I have yet to see someone with a NOA2 date in April get a case number. Check my spreadsheet. Since yours is early April, you should be getting yours soon.

1. Definitely not lost; it might just have been late to be sent to NVC.

2. Could be very possible as well.

I'd suggest calling up USCIS and asking specifically what date your case was sent to NVC.

I am so excited, i just got an email that my AOS bill is ready to be paid... wow... we just sent the DS-3032 on Friday night, wow this must be a record

What record is that? The DS-3032 and AOS have NOTHING to do with one another. They're both part of separate tracks at NVC.

Okay, let's go over what I need for my medical:

- 3 passport photos [check]

- Immunization record [check]

- Documents describing current health condition and long term prognosis [check]

- Interview letter [check]

- $300 in cash [check :(]

Should I put my name and case number on the backs of my photos? (for the ones I submit at my interview as well?)

Am I missing anything?

Your passport? :P

But yes, lightly write on the back your full name, date of birth, and case number (just like NVC). Do the same for your interview ones as well. Just make sure in all cases that it doesn't leak through to the front. This is what I did yes.gif

So even if i don't take any letter from, my family doc is ok,right?

As long as you're healthy and are on no current medication (besides birth control). I was only on birth control and had no health issues, so no letter was needed for me.

MCMs is what?

i sent a second email with a scan of the NOA2.

MCM is another VJ member here with a NOA2 of 3/23, but their petition was only sent to NVC like a month later.

Philippines' holidays won't affect your case except for open slots for interview dates at the consulate/embassy as they're closed on both Philippines' holidays AND for holidays in the US. Double the amount of holidays headbonk.gif

But nope, not a holiday tomorrow in the US no0pb.gif
