Am I right in thinking that NVC only sends out your package AFTER they schedule the interview? So calling that DOS number before you get the interview won't tell you anything?

exactly [prior to interview date set, calling DoS is useless]

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Quick question concerning Question 24. on I 864. If i am not using any household income should i still fill it out? and I am a student making no income do you think it will be hard to get the visa even if I have a cosponsor who makes more than enough for his family and my fiance and I?

you are required to fill out the I-864, even with 0 income or assets.

If yer chasing after a visa for a fiance, though - I'd rethink all of yer filing plans.

Pssst - Saylin - Got the t-shirt transfer papers and some more ink cartridges today :D Just have to find the shirts and we're golden :)

Yay! This is excellent news :D My weekend is looking brighter! star_smile.gif

A note for Nerds (Like Me! LOL!)

All right moving here as well until I get that "mighty" email with Interview Date. By the way, has anybody played with the DHL tracker for cases being forwarded from NVC to their respective Embassies/Consulates?

I was playing with it and noticed that there is an Airway Bill generated with each case that is shipped out of NVC. Now, if NVC operators are able to tell you by looking at their screens on which date was your case forwarded to the Embassy (because they actually can), can they also tell you the Airwill Bill Number?

That way you will be 100% sure when your package makes it overseas ... any comments?

I played with the DHL thingy. Here's how it works: once an interview date has been assigned, typically the case is sent out the next day (but could take longer). Calling up NVC, the operator can tell you the date NVC shipped the case out. You then follow the format mentioned in the thread I linked earlier. There's no absolute guarantee that your case is in the package being sent to your embassy, but it's quite possible. To confirm that the case has arrived abroad, call up DOS (number is listed in the first post). They have access to both NVC's system as well as consulates/embassies.

Am I right in thinking that NVC only sends out your package AFTER they schedule the interview? So calling that DOS number before you get the interview won't tell you anything?

Yup, in most cases, NVC schedules the date first and then ships the case out. But you can be calling DOS to see if an interview date has been scheduled.

Uh, fiance? Your profile says IR-1/CR-1...

If you're filing for your fiance, you filed for the wrong visa!

Are you married now? That's a CR-1. If so, you still fill out an I-864, you are the petitioner, even if you do not have income. ps referring to your spouse as a fiance and slip in front of a CO is going to raise some eyebrows.

If you're getting married it's a K-1. K-1 fills out the I-134 and then the I-864 after they are married in the US and need to adjust status.

Nah sorry I meant husband. Its my husband

yes, you still fill out an I-864 and put 0 as your income and it entirely depends on the country how much weight they put on joint sponsors.

It healed great. She was worried she would have to touch up the blue, but I think it's fine! Yeah I'm past the itchies! That was the worst part of the whole thing! It didn't hurt much, and it never scabbed.

It's on the back of my right shoulder :)

Yeah, I've been with my husband through a few of his tattoos and saw the itchy stage. As well as the peeling stage! Glad it didn't hurt much for you afterwards. I would love to get a tattoo, wanted one for ages, but I'm deathly afraid of needles (should have seen me at my medical last year headbonk.gif) Anyways Off-Topic2.giflaughing.gif
