NVC Filers - April 2012

Good Morning,

It looks like I received a checklist for the DS-3032, which had already been emailed last week. Is that the NVC's way of "rejecting" it? Should it just be emailed again, or should I send it back through snail mail, with the check list cover sheet that they emailed?

By the way, I've also been getting the busy signal @ NVC...

How are you coming to the conclusion that May is full? Has anyone directly told you that? So confused!

NVC operator told me and I'm guessing after seeing the CSC site.But as Saylin said there is still available date who expedites.

NVC directly responds to the DS-3032 saying they either accepted or rejected it. I've never seen a checklist before for the DS-3032... You can try emailing it again, I guess.

They have been doing that for years. Many moons ago people could go to any consulate in Canada for Visas and interviews. Now it's only Vancouver and Montreal. All the other consulates do are give services to U.S. Citizens in need. The Embassy in Ottawa doesn't let anyone on in, unless they're diplomats or U.S. Citizens in an emergency situation.

I guess they still have people showing up at the Consulates hoping to get visas. (Neela's message is on every consulate's page)

Canadians that need work visas, or PRs and citizens that need visitor visas, now have to send everything to Vancouver or Montreal. They only get interviews if something is screwy with the case.

I know I am not at NVC anymore, but I just want to wish everyone here good luck!!! I know you might not see the light at the end of the tunnel quite yet, but I promise it's coming, and when you see it, it's a wonderful feeling!!

I myself will be preparing all my evidence this week, since I am leaving on Monday for my husband's interview. We are nervous, but staying positive.

My senator has apparently been keeping an eye on my case the whole time. We asked for his help during the uscis stage cause it took so long. On friday I got an email saying good luck on my interview and looking forward having me a citizen of Alaska.

They have been doing that for years. Many moons ago people could go to any consulate in Canada for Visas and interviews. Now it's only Vancouver and Montreal. Slight correction here. They can apply and ask questions at a local consulate, but everything gets sent to the consulate general in Montreal or Vancouver. The only thing they can not apply for are the CR-1, K-3 and K-1 visas at a consulate. They're probably back logged from the amount of visitor and work visas people make appointments for.

From every thing has been told about Montreal, when you get there, they look at your letter and determine where you need to go. (the building is HUGE,in comparison Winnipeg is tiny!) That's why elevator guy asks for immigrant visa applicants. In Vancouver they seperate the people out while still outside.

That floor/section deals with only immigrant visas.

Visitor visas go to another place, work visas to another floor, students to another etc so on.

So people needing consulate help or appointments do not any way effect the people waiting for immigrant visas.

There were signs hanging from the ceiling indicating which section to sit in. I initially didn't see these signs and sat in the wrong section. The student/work visa section was on the far end, and had their own 3 or 4 windows, whereas everyone else (immigrant/non-immigrant) went to the same windows down the hall.

I have no idea what's on the other floors. But if I remember correctly, inside the elevator, there was only one option for another floor (besides the basement one) and that was the 19th. There might have been one or two more (for 17 and 18), but not for all of the other floors.

So they are in different sections.

At Vancouver they separated everyone up while still outside, before going through security. People I saw for other visas, I never saw again after that lol. So my theory is they go to a completely different place. (or something in the basement ate them)
