Just spoke to the NVC and verified all three cases are completed!!!! I am so excited!!!! The operator inform me that the interviews are normally scheduled the first two weeks of the month. She also inform me that once the interview is scheduled then they send the cases to the embassy, is this true and when would my husband and kids have to have their medical done?

Congratulations on the CC. From what I understand, interviews are scheduled right through the month, irrespective of what the operator tells you. As for the medicals, I don't know how it's done in SA, but I'd get it at least 10 days prior to the date of interview. In most countries, you have to produce your interview letter to get your medicals done.

Grats! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Don't listen to the operators. They schedule interviews all month long. Want proof? Look at my own timeline, I was scheduled during the FOURTH week. The part they did get right was that the case is sent to the embassy after an interview date is scheduled.

As for the medical, most places don't allow advance medicals, so you'll need the interview letter in hand. Once you get an interview date scheduled, I'd suggest getting the medical done asap.

Thanks!! One thing I have learned is lawyers do not speed up the process, my case was delayed over 3 weeks because they couldn't get the amount on my 2011 tax form to match with the amount they put on line 25 , all I kept thinking is all the money that I spent I could have saved just by reading the info on this site

[...]

If your case is "normal" (no past criminal charges, overstays, etc), then the ONLY benefit a lawyer has is that both the AOS and IV bills are invoiced at the same time (no DS-3032 needed as the lawyer is automatically designated as agent), thus shaving off a few days. That is it. Other than that, they just suck up your money and your time as they're usually not up to date with NVC processing and don't focus solely on your case (compared to doing it yourself).

Hello all!

Saylin I have some updates for you for your spreadsheet.

I arrived home from California on Tuesday (with both i-864's signed and ready) to find mail from NVC! I got all of my numbers almost exactly one month after NOA2 delivered to my door. I called and gave a very nice female operator my email address, after about five minutes of the most annoying pre-recorded music and messages I've ever heard! Signed on to the NVC last night and our AOS has already been invoiced. Sent the optin email at 11:30 last night and received confirmation this morning (!) that we were enrolled sucessfully. Just now finished the choice of agent form online. I forgot to bring a cheque home with me so I'd have hubby's bank routing number so I guess we will pay the AOS tomorrow.

08/13/2010 - Matt found my profile on okcupid

08/16/2010 - I introduced him to skype

12/28/2010 - We met in 3D for the first time

05/27/2011 - We got Married!

04/23/2012 - AOS paid, waiting for receipt

04/26/2012 - AOS sent

05/02/2012 - AOS checklist received, also false checklist for ds-261

05/03/2012 - IV invoice email received

Wow, grats on all the progress! kicking.gif

What's the date on the letter (with the case numbers)? I wanna update the spreadsheet to be as exact as possible.

And that was a fast optin acceptance! Mine took 16 days headbonk.gif
