Oh wow sheeshkabelle :o

And yes Saylin he will need a waiver, he will have the 10 year ban, so my case is not to be judged as anything near normal processing times

LOL at least I'm good at something! (bad luck) It was kind of a blessing in disguise. Mr. Sheeshka ended up getting a substantial amount of work during that time and it padded the bank account. And it made it easier for us to get an IR-1 Visa instead of the CR-1. (gotta look at the silver lining)

Hopefully you have a good attorney, and everything will turn out fine, just take a long time. Gosh I thought 8 1/2 months in USCIS limbo was bad! A YEAR?! I would have lost it.

______________

On another note, my Predators just won game four against the Red Wings. 90% of game 4 winners go on to win the series. I can't WAIT to do that victory dance and rub it in hubby's face. (we're competitive :P)

I'm beating a bunch of Canadian guys in our Hockey pool. So their never going to hear the end of being beat by a girl. An AMERICAN GIRL at that

Now for NVC to cough up an interview at Montreal, so we can make plans for the rest of our lives!!

So, how long does it take to get in the door at NVC? It is 2 weeks now and we are not even in the door yet. What does it take 3 weeks or so?

It's taking about 3+ weeks to get a case number from NOA2 date.

Yeah, because of your husband's past, your case will definitely take longer than most average cases. Hopefully it doesn't take too long to get the waiver approved, and he's in the US by the end of the year.

Thanks! I hope so. My attorney told me the waiver process (including the NVC & visa interview) will probably take at least another year to process, but it could take less or more, there is no real timeline to follow for my case XD

EDIT:

Just saw your post sheeshkabelle. Yes... for a bit there I was going crazy. Until we finally got NOA2 and it feels a little better for something to actually be happening. He is so ready to come back to the US.

Well, NVC should follow the average timeline for your case. It's just the interview and waiver process that will not be average.

Have you looked at other cases that had to file waivers and how long they took? Specifically with cases in Guatemala?

I haven't been able to find many... I have been looking on immigrate2us for waiver info as I've heard they are good with stuff like that, but I haven't found any specific to Guatemala. I may just try googling it if all else fails.

Happy for you. The process at USCIS has been a long one for you. I hope NVC goes faster.

Question for any of you more experienced folks. Is it usual that basically a week of cases are skipped and case numbers assigned to those with later NOA2 dates like this? Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for bluetiger and CharityA. I'm just frustrated that NVC keeps saying "wait 15-20 days" when I had an earlier NOA2 date.

I'm guessing one of two things happened (or even both):

1 - USCIS delayed some cases, and they only got sent out after later NOA2 dates, thus NVC received later ones first and then the earlier ones.

2 - NVC assigns case numbers like I-130 petitions are approved: the cases land on people's desk and case numbers get assigned as they get through them.

I'm leaning more towards number 1, as there have been a few cases here where people found out their case was only sent out to NVC like 2-3 weeks after NOA2.

NFL sucks. The game take forever and every one of the players are over paid divas.

But Mr. Sheeshka loves NFL too, and MLB, and Golf, and UFC.. thank goodness he's not into NBA or I'd lose my mind. And you can still watch CFL games in the US. You just have to know where to look for them :) (AT&T Uverse sports channels show them)
