You get an automated response right after you send it. This is not the acceptance. A few days later, maybe even a week, you'll get an actual reply to the email you sent saying that it has been received and that whatever info will now be forwarded to your choice of agent, and this is the actual acceptance.

I called NVC everyday after a week passed after my NOA2 and when a case number was finally available, the operator proceeded to ask me for the emails addresses and then I finally asked for the case number/IIN... I knew I had a number because she was asking me those questions (which was the first time anyone had) without me prompting her... So hang in there and keep calling, once a day seems moderate...

Thanks for your help! I wish I had known this sooner because it's been almost three weeks for me and I could have been calling everyday :P So when I talk to the operator do I just ask if my case has been assigned a case number?

Thanks for the answers :) I think I will try to call the NVC now, to see if they receive my case and if I have a case number yet. I will also give them mine and my husbands email addresses so we won't have to wait for snail mail anymore hehe.

You won't be able to give your email addresses until AFTER the case number has been assigned. So, keep that in mind.

My Husband sent to NVC via e-mail Ds-3032, he did receive an e-mail sayin they received it.

Is he supposed to get another email or am I getting one to see if it got accepted, or none at all

What you received is called the auto-response. As the name implies, it's an auto response. In about a week or so, you'll get an actual response from someone at NVC, saying whether they accepted or rejected your choice of agent.

Don't worry about not finding this out sooner. If you look at my spreadsheet, linked in my signature, NVC is currently around mid to late March for assigning interview dates.

And yes, once you get through, they'll ask for either your USCIS receipt number or NVC case number. Just give them your USCIS receipt number and ask if a case number has been assigned.

Yea, you should just ask them that straight up and for the invoice identification number as well... When it's available, they'll tell you when u ask... Good luck!!! It seems lately though for many it's taking more than the typical 15-20 business days. I've heard case numbers being assigned almost 4 weeks later actually. Just keep at it.

For those that recently received/paid their IV bill, did you receive an email notifying you that the bill posted/is close to posting? I think it'd be nice to stop frantically signing into the portal and just sit back and wait for the email to be sent...

Well yesterday I received an email saying that I have been invoiced, but I did not see anything all day yesterday. Today in the morning it was still $0, but after I saw a few of us here actually see the invoice and pay, I decided to check again. At first nothing was there, but I checked again an hour later before my lunch break and BAM there was the invoice :whistle::wow::yes:

I have question about the I-864 for the Joint Sponsor:

My joint sponsor is above the poverty line, and does not need her husband's income to get over the poverty line. Should my joint sponsor add his name to line 24 b with his income? Or can my joint sponsor just put N/A?

My first order of business will be making sure their websites work in ALL browsers, not just Internet Explorer headbonk.gif

Do you know, we paid our IV fee using Safari (Mac OS) and had NO problems? And I was halfway through the transaction when I remembered that their system is supposed to be IE-exclusive. Go figure!

For all of my fellow VJ Friends currently in the process of "waiting for something" cheer up and remember that this entire process is a "WAITING GAME" ... you are either waiting for you NOA2, your NVC case # ,acceptance of DS-3032, AOS or IV Bill, Case review, Case Close, Assignment of Interview Date, or Waiting for the actual Interview Date, OR Waiting for POE.

So at any freaking stage you're always waiting for something, so if you think of this as part of the process and prepare yourself mentally to "Wait" you could save yourself some extra gray hair and anxiety along the way :girlwerewolf2xn:

I think so. It's funny how one's brain works. I was worried about the visa not being granted at interview but I was not worried about bona fide marriage.
