No. If they have an email address for you from your I-130 application you might get an email. With NVC it's best to be proactive with them.

Follow the guides and FAQs on the first page of the thread!

Good luck!

Hmm I don't think I ever gave an email with my I-130. My attorney filed it, but I don't recall ever giving one. Also... I thought it was my NOA2, but it doesn't say Notice of Action at the top, it just says Notice of Approval of Relative Immigrant Visa Petition. Is that the same as the NOA2, or should I still be waiting for something else? Sorry for all the questions

I paid both my AOS and IV bill today. Where do i print the bar coded coversheet from? thanks for your help

The bar-coded cover sheets are available on the payment portal as soon as you finishing paying a bill. There's a little button that says 'Print Document Cover Sheet'. That's what you're looking for. Print out the AOS and IV ones and attach them to their respective packages. Keep in mind, although you have all documents to send to NVC, I always recommend waiting until the payment clears on the portal just in case.

Erm, hi. I think I might fit here if I recieved my NOA2? Just waiting for a case number, but I haven't even called to check about it yet. Just now realized I even could XD

Welcome! *waves*

And yes, I suggest you start to call once a day until you get a case number!

I got it on March 27th. I haven't received anything from the NVC saying they received my case... Not sure how long that is supposed to take. Will they mail me a notice saying they received it?

NVC does not mail out any confirmation that they've received your case from USCIS. You have to call an operator (preferably once a day) to see if it's been received.

If you don't contact them at all, they'll mail you the initial information package. But if you're proactive and as soon as you get your case number assigned and give over both email addresses, then NVC will email you all correspondence, which is much faster than snail mail.

Just got my NVC case number assigned!!!

Grats!

Wow, I updated you on the spreadsheet.. you skipped over like a week's worth of NOA2 dates that don't have case numbers yet blink.gif

Nope, there's no email address question on the I-130. It's on the G-1145 (optional). If you sent the G-1145 with the I-130 petition, then it's possible NVC will transfer it over to their system, but they might not. Don't take that chance and call them everyday. And like I said above, once you get your case number, give the two email addresses over.

And that's the NOA2. The term 'NOA2' is obviously a term created here on VJ. Just like the 'NOA1'. It doesn't say that on the notice, it's just what we call it here.

And don't apologize for questions!

For those that recently received/paid their IV bill, did you receive an email notifying you that the bill posted/is close to posting? I think it'd be nice to stop frantically signing into the portal and just sit back and wait for the email to be sent...

I called NVC everyday after a week passed after my NOA2 and when a case number was finally available, the operator proceeded to ask me for the emails addresses and then I finally asked for the case number/IIN... I knew I had a number because she was asking me those questions (which was the first time anyone had) without me prompting her... So hang in there and keep calling, once a day seems moderate...

You get an automated response right after you send it. This is not the acceptance. A few days later, maybe even a week, you'll get an actual reply to the email you sent saying that it has been received and that whatever info will now be forwarded to your choice of agent, and this is the actual acceptance.
