Not the company's heads, only close friends

Oh ok...I know, it can be a tough thing to tell the company heads. I was terrified to tell my human resources manager! Figured I'd get fired because I was planning on moving a year or so after becoming a permanent employee. When I did, my human resources manager was surprisingly approachable - and even agreeable to me saying "I will need to take a week off for my medical appointment because I have to travel, and I'll need time off for my interview, but I do have the vacation time banked for it...I don't know when I'll be going yet though, and oh yeah, my requests are pretty much non-negotiables...even at month end - SORRY!" :)

Honestly, i do not have any problem leaving because my wife is much more important than everything, i am just wondering how i am gonna tell them i am definitely leaving. They know my wife is living in the US but they never ask me if she has started any process to have me come and live with her. They know she is pregnant.. anyways i do not think there will be a problem since they know that the Baby needs to be born in my presence not behind me

we have been married over 2 years now should i tell that to NVC or tell the Embassy when we go for an interview.

No need to tell them, they should know. Just point it out at the interview that you've been married more than 2 years and are eligible for an IR-1 visa, instead of an CR-1. If you do get issued a CR-1 visa (it does happen), just fix it at POE. Have the marriage certificate handy. Point out you've been married for more than 2 years, so you should get a 10 year green card in the mail and not a 2 year one.

Well, what I've done is simple. We prepared the documents for Canadian and US immigration, and my boss is fully aware that if US immigration stalls out and isn't done by July, Trav's coming here. They also know, though, that we've had our expedite approved and that means that I'm basically "on call" in terms of the interview - whenever they tell me to go, I go, no questions (and it's probably going to be quick). I've kept them as informed as I can, but they know we're hoping to get me down there because of his schooling, so they know that the Canadian immigration's really a last resort.

In your case, all you can do is just tell them when the time comes. Keep them informed of what they need to know - tell them when you go to the interview, tell them if you have anything else come up, but keep talking to them. Keep it friendly. Give as much notice as you can, but do it as soon as your interview is done and you have your visa in hand. If they ask why, just tell them that - your wife is far more important than anything to you. And you're right - if you don't think there will be much problem, then you should be just fine! Honest communication is key :)

the only problem should be the 2 motnhs notice. After the 2 months they would just give me a nice letter which would help for other attempts to get a similar job at any Mobile company in the US.

I called the NVC, I was todl that it has been more than 15 business days, send a scanned copy of your approval notice to nvcresearch@state.gov

Has anyone else ever done that? What was the turnaround time? I have to go home and scan it before I can email it.

Just got off the phone with Ruby at NVC. No case number yet, but she said our case has arrived and is in the building. Then she told me it will take 20 business days for a case number to be generated.:bonk: I think I'll ignore that and call every day to see if we have our case number yet.
