It makes me smile that you're easy on her :) But it made me smile more that you want to give her BAD news! most husbands avoid that like the plague :)

What I do not get is that some people get their NVC case numbers very quickly and for others it takes almost 2 weeks or more since NVC received their case. Why is there discrepancy ?

It's the federal government. Nothing goes like it should.

Looks like NVC is having another slow down.

That's REALLY cute :D I love that! Is that what you do too, when you have good news or bad news? :) When I have bad stuff on my mind, apparently I look like a sad little storm cloud...ready to just burst open with tears. That's when Trav says "you're not getting off Skype till you tell me what's wrong!" And when there's good news, neither of us shut up so...we talk :)

Medical exam today woohoo!! My son is well excited about the train raid :D

Me I'm just hoping the baby doesn't wanna come out, Saylin I'm taking your advice crossing my legs and no sneezing

Glad you took my advice ;)

thank you for those who answered my questions :)good thing that i don't have to fill out/sign that tax form.

i got more questions:still about DS 230 packet

1. my husband called NVC today, and he said:

DS 230 must be filled in capital letters. i've asked here and there b4, some people said we can just type it out in "normal way" so how cud NVC said it must be in Capitals? ........well it's not a big deal actually,i can just type everything in capitals (feels like shouting tho) also that i just don't feel like it to use *a Continuation Sheet* when i have no enough space to give my information ( u know when u use caps, the space is "narrower" :-/ if u know what i mean.

2. which one is BETTER? to send the ORIGINAl documents or CERTIFIED ONES? i have a friend who's just got RFE cuz NVC thought she didn't give the original of Divorce Decree, she said it's the original, now she didnt know what to do. so i'm thinking, even when u send the originals, NVC might think they are not :-/.........i'm worried about mine since it's in Indonesian.

3. do i have to include the TRANSLATIONS for each document in my DS 230 packet? (birth certificate and Marriage certificate)the originals are in Indonesian, and i have the translations ready (i got them translated @ a translator endorsed by the embassy FYI)

hoping for bright explanations, thank you :)

1. It can be filled out the normal way. That's what I did for ALL my forms and had zero problems. Why an operator suggested that, I don't know. But remember, just because ONE operator said that, doesn't mean ALL of them will. It's just the opinion of one. Whenever you have a question like that, I always suggest asking a minimum of FIVE operators as their answers will almost always vary.

2. Follow what the country-specific documents want. Some want specifically originals, some want specifically certified copies, etc. Some countries aren't picky. For Canada, you can send either or. If you have the option, I suggest sending certified copies. Originals you can't replace, but you can always get more certified copies. I personally sent certified copies of both my birth certificate and our marriage certificate. Had no problems.

3. On the FAQ, I wrote a question about translations. According to NVC, if the documents are in the official language of the country where you'll be having your interview, then no, you don't need to translate them. BUT! Just because they may not be needed, I ALWAYS recommend sending in translations as I have seen people get checklists for not having documents translated. If you have the translations, then definitely send them along with the original/certified copies of your certificates.

Being pregnant has its advantages it saved me a few bucks. Didn't have to do the xray and I wont have to do it later on either. I spent the money on a new lego set for my son instead. In all the medical exam took about 45 for the both of us together. Now it's just the interview left! :-D

Glad you saved money!

And by the sounds of it, no baby popping out ;)

What I do not get is that some people get their NVC case numbers very quickly and for others it takes almost 2 weeks or more since NVC received their case. Why is there discrepancy ?

You have to keep in mind, the work load at USCIS and NVC is constantly changing every single day. Sometimes they'll have a lot of cases, other days, not so much. So time frames are in constant fluctuation.

After emailing NVC yesterday as i was instructed they emailed me back today saying that they dont have my case and they are going to contact USCIS (but i already know USCIS didnt sent it till 4/11/12, found out after i emailed nvc). Glad to know they took the time to resond tho. I can deal with the wait knowing whats going on. it's harder to deal with the wait when no one has an answer for you.

hum Trav is right about that, when there is something wrong my wife tends to be secretive so i have to cherish her so she can tell me. It happened mostly when i did something unintentionally or when she is crying. She knows i do not like when she is crying but she does not let me know. When i find out through her tone of voice, i have to almost kneel down so she can finally tell me why she is crying. Mostly it is for the baby, when baby is kiciking her too hard

When I get quiet and sad on Trav, usually it's because I don't want him to feel bad that anything's wrong. It's a hard process, and sometimes things will go wrong, and I feel bad for being so emotional. He can read me like a book though, and he knows I feel better once I just talk to him. It sounds like it's the same for you and your wife too :D That's really special. I'm trying harder to just tell Trav when something's on my mind BEFORE I get sad, and he appreciates it - I'm sure after the baby's born, once your little family is reunited, your wife will find it easier too!

I am sure the way CSC has been approving cases lately it would have been a big enough batch. What I hate about this whole process is that there is no set way things are doen. Some cases can be faster and some slower for totally arbitrary reasons!
