Oh NVC, how you humor me! I just got a response back from them (email) about the payment problems I was having a week and a half ago. Thanks for being so on the ball! :bonk:

laughing.gif

...I just got the strangest email from the Congressman. Apparently our file's not only going to montreal - the NVC director/deputy is reviewing it at the Congressman's request. I wonder if this is bad or good?...

Interesting... I'm guessing that's good. Never heard of the NVC director stepping in before blink.gif

We haven't done anything yet. Should i opt in to the EP myself or should i wait for my Laywer to do it?

Ohhhh, you have a lawyer? Well, the AOS and IV bills will be invoiced at the same time. And there's no need to fill out the DS-261, Choice of Agent form, as your lawyer is automatically designated as the agent for the case.

You can optin yourself. No need for the lawyer to do that, if they know about EP that is...

Hi everyone! :-)

We received an interview letter for our son (interview date is on May 10) and my husband called the embassy to ask if he could re-schedule it since I'm still waiting for my case no. The operator said it's not a big deal and that it's ok for our son not to show up on that day and that it really happens, it's normal so there shouldn't be any problem at all. My husband was also told that they cannot offer us any help at this time until we get my case no. So what's going to happen is, the CO wouldn't have any idea that our son is not going to show up on May 10 (the fact that they don't know anything freaks me out...I don't want them to feel like we've been irresponsible and careless even though the embassy operator assured us that it's nothing.)

Any comforting facts you guys have there regarding rescheduling interviews? Btw, we want to be interviewed together that's why I'm trying to catch up on my son's interview. He's just a toddler so he can't go all by himself.

Oh, good, your lawyer knows about EP. That's one good sign.

But your lawyer is definitely wrong about the IV fee being $404. NVC is currently holding all IV invoices until tomorrow when the fees change. The new fee will either be $230 or $305 (depends if the surcharge is included or not). Either way, you definitely will NOT be invoiced $404.

I'd suggest trying to expedite your case with NVC (once you get a case number), saying you want an interview date the same as your son's and that you'll bring all documents to the interview. This might work in your case as your son is already through NVC and has an interview date.

Yeah, that email is pretty cryptic. I would have sent an email like yours to try to clarify things.

NVC has your case so FUBARed it's unbelievable.

Exam went fine, I was a little sleep deprived from watching Vancouver lose  I'm waiting on grades to be posted.

And I'll call DoS as soon as I'm done munching down my coco pebbles.

This may be a really stuipd question but i want to make sure i am doing this right. When i opt in to the EP would I be the petitioner or the applicant. I am a USC and my husband is from Mexico.
