Thanks Saylin. 20 days from case# to case complete isn't bad, but it should have been 14 days if it wasn't for the NVC rejecting the document in error. Either way i'm glad that step is done. Now to wait for the interview. I posted last night that I won't call NVC anymore and will instead just wait for the email to arrive. Now I will have to see if I stick to that or not :)

Yeah, 20 days isn't bad at all in the grand scheme of things. Beat my delay in NVC of 37 days. Your "checklist" didn't push you that far behind, only 6 days.

It's alright just waiting for the email. It'll only be a few hours after the actual date has been assigned, so no need to add more stress if you don't want it.

Well, yet another (probably futile) email sent to the congressman, this time by Travis (yes, I helped write it to get him started but he reviewed and accepted the final draft, and sent it). We shall see...

OMG that's awesome...So basically it was their fault for not knowing the correct certificate from the incorrect and that delayed your CC for your wife. I would push a little bit for an interview actually. crossing my fingers for you buddy!

Thanks TangoBravo. I have been in contact with the Embassy in Santiago and they told me that they might be able to push up the interview date for me if we get one that isn't in early May, but they can't do anything until the NVC assigns the interview and hands off the case to them.

I suppose we could request an expedite, but I don't know if I have the energy at this point.

For those that aren't familiar with our case, I submitted the IV packet a little over a week ago for my wife and step-daughter. Last Wednesday I found out that they didn't accept the Divorce Decree from my wife's previous marriage. I know I sent in the original document as required and I had previously confirmed with the Embassy in Santiago that it was the correct document. I immediately requested a Supervisor to review the document, because there was no other document that we could send in. That review happened sometime in the past 18 hours or so and the person who reviewed it this time accepted it. This was very frustrating, especially since this is the time of the month that a lot of interview dates are assigned. I didn't want us to miss out on a May interview because of an error by the NVC.

06/10/11 - Married

07/22/11 - Mailed I-130 petitions for wife and step-daughter

07/28/11 - NOA1 for both

02/21/12 - RFE for both (received hardcopy on 2/25)

02/28/12 - Responded to RFE for both(received by CSC on 2/29)

03/02/12 - NOA2 for both(received hardcopy on 3/8)

03/12/12 - NVC Received both

03/21/12 - NVC case number and IIN received for both & Emailed Choice of Agent for both

03/23/12 - AOS bill invoiced & paid for both

I just got off the phone with Nigel and he gave me some great news! They reviewed the marriage termination document that I had originally sent for my wife's IV paakcet and deemed it was acceptable and her case is now closed! I feel so relieved after nearly a week of feeling stressed out due to them rejecting the document the first time around.

I asked Nigel if the interview had been scheduled for either case, he told me nothing has been scheduled yet.

Now to call the wife and give her the good news! :dance:

I just got my interview date about the same time as you and I just received my Interview info.

Great News!!!!

EP isn't causing their issues; it's errors that NVC made (birth date, last name, address).

I got the email packet 4 about 2-3 hrs after i found out about interview date from DOS & NVC
