For how long? Are you that resistant

lol you mean that patient? Ya, we're not in a huge hurry. We don't plan on hubby moving until after our anniversary in June anyway.

Plus I've already made plans to go to Canada May 15th and stay until he's ready to move.

He will have to give notice to his work. I'll pack up the apartment. We still have to get a proper hitch on our SUV and buy a trailer. U-haul won't allow you to tow one of their trailers with a Ford Explorer. I don't have a garage, so getting a trailer we can keep his tools and motorcycle locked up makes more sense.

Maybe not, that would be even better news!

I know in Tennessee, my husband has to wait for a SSN, show his valid visa and take all the tests over again, and take a certified US motorcycle safety course to get his motorcycle endorsement. They will not take his Canadian one.

Same for California. Which is rather annoying as we swapped our US licences for our Canadian ones. Also 2 weeks after becoming resident you have to apply for a test but at least I don`t have to wait for a SSN.

Hum u gonna have some fun. That is what is good with people living in Canada they can cross the border line to come see their fiance or spouse as much as they want.

Once I can finally get this divorce decree issue straightened out and get case closed for my wife I will probably not call NVC again. For me finding out the interview date 12 hours faster by calling instead of just waiting for the email isn't worth it. I'm sick of hearing piglets voice and i'm sick of hearing that my call is important to them.

If I haven't received a call back from a supervisor by tomorrow night I might just lose it with the next NVC operator. I'm sick of being told that I have to give them time to review the document. It took them 2 days to review it the first time and they were wrong when they rejected it. Now they feel like they can take their time to correct their error. Meanwhile interview dates are getting assigned and if we miss out on an interview date in May because of this I will raise hell.

I worked in a call center for 5 years so I know that being an s$$hole doesn't do you any good, but I also know that when the customer has been inconvenienced that you should do all that you can to correct the problem. I just spoke to Supervisor Jen at the NVC. She wasn't able to resolve my issue because she doesn't have access to my case. She went on to tell me that it could take up to 20 days to review the document. I told her that was unacceptable because this was their error and we need to get this case closed ASAP so we don't miss out on a May interview. She was very cordial and seemed to understand my frustration. She told me someone would review it within the next day or two.

I asked her if the operators have up to the minute information and she told me that they do, so my earlier theory about calling after 14:30 EDT is completely wrong, but Saylin already shot down that theory :)

I don't even think you need a social security number to get a license. Usually, you just need proof of residence in that state, proof of your identity, and proof of your legal status in the US, which is just your passport with the validated CR-1 visa.

For South Dakota, you need a SSN. I thought this was required of all states... I needed: my passport, green card, my SSN card, and 2 documents to prove my residence (like bills). Since I had a valid Canadian driver's license, I just needed to take the vision test. No written or road test for me.

I just want to leave this thread cause I know Saylin is sick of me saying the same thing for 3 weeks. Sorry guys, I don't know where else to vent.:unsure:

I prefer happy people. Feeling good will bring good situations. If you're sad all the time, then you're just gonna attract situations to be sad about...

IMO, anyways.

lol...one thing i've always been told is never EVER pray for patience...you'll be given even more situations that make you NEED patience!

Can someone tell me what's the site to print your own passport photos please.......thx

Too bad about them not reviewing your case yet. I'm sure progress was a little slow today due to the Easter weekend. I'm betting by the end of tomorrow, you'll hear of something yes.gif

And I figured the 4:30pm thing was wrong. It just didn't seem to make sense to me that their systems would only update at a certain time. Not for something like NVC anyways. Glad you confirmed it with an operator though!
