After numerous phone calls and three emails and finally talking to a supervisor at NVC this morning, I came home from my son's doctor appointment to this email:

Dear Sir/Madam:

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

CASE COMPLETE BABY!!

Have you tried calling DOS this morning?

I'm buying into the theory that the NVC operators don't have access to up to the minute information. There is clearly a disconnect between the NVC operators and the officers, they probably even work on isolated systems. It seems they send out updates around 4pm EDT, so work that was completed in the morning will not reflect on their computers until after 4pm EDT.

Yup, called NVC in the AM, called DOS at 11:30 am and nothing....very frustrated! Steph and I are fed up, we cant do anything due to this date!

Agree. But looking back at your timeline, I really think that someone cancel their interview and looked at the next case in line and happened to be yours.....OR they just didn't wanna deal with you anymore on the phone!!! specially Lisa in DOS!

Nope, it wasn't the case as others with case complete dates after mine were also getting their interview dates in the fourth week.

Trust me, they schedule interviews all month long. Maybe not for every single consulate/embassy due to lack of room, but they do do it. It's not just the one week every single month.

I'm planning to call NVC after 4pm this afternoon and if they haven't cleared up this BS with the divorce decree I will insist to speak to a supervisor. NVC can't tell me it will take 20 days to review when the mistake was made by them. Now that I have the backing of the Embassy I feel empowered to be more forceful with them regarding this issue.

I'm not sure where this 4pm thing came from. I called early afternoon (2pm) and got my interview date then, way before this so-called 4pm update of their systems. I also got my case number over the phone at 12pm, again, before 4pm. I also had a case complete before 4pm. Unless they've changed things, I doubt they wait until a certain time to update their systems...

I'm guessing they haven't worked on scheduling for the DR for May yet. I hope they get to it very soon so you can start making your plans. My wife insists her interview will be on May 3, which if that is true I would like to know soon so I can start making travel arrangements.

03/12/12 - NVC Received both

03/21/12 - NVC case number and IIN received for both & Emailed Choice of Agent for both

03/23/12 - AOS bill invoiced & paid for both

03/26/12 - AOS bill shows paid & AOS Packets mailed for both

03/27/12 - Choice of Agent accepted for wife (sent another for step-daughter via email and express mail)

03/28/12 - Choice of Agent accepted for step-daughter & IV bill invoiced & paid for wife

03/29/12 - IV bill shows paid for wife & IV bill invoiced & paid for step-daughter

03/30/12 - IV bill shows paid for step-daughter & IV Packets mailed for both

04/04/12 - IV Packets reviewed. Checklist issued for Divorce Decree for my wife. Step-daughter's was accepted and her case closed

04/16/12 - Expedite requested for both cases due to NVC error

04/18/12 - Expedite request approved for both cases and sent to Santiago Embassy

04/25/12 - Wife went to Embassy for document review. Interview date assigned for both cases.

04/26/12 - Medical Exam for both. Result - approved.

05/07/12 - Interview date for both. Result - approved!

05/09/12 - Received both Visas

Lol i know right. My wife was laying down when i called a few minutes ago asking her to call the doctor's office, She told me that she was gonna call around 1hpm as the nurse is busy. I told her how could she know that she is busy and that i wanted her to call, she was being lazy and that she needed some sleep, Baby heard my voice and kick her down her....lol She said :" you see your baby is mad at me not willing to call now, she kick my...lol and another kicking and another one ..lol she said ok i am going to call..lol. Then she did!

If it hasn't changed since I was waiting, I tracked Canadian cases (laughing.gif) and noticed the longest wait for an interview date to be scheduled was 2 weeks (15 days for myself on the long end). So, you should get your date this month yes.gif

I'm guessing they haven't worked on scheduling for the DR for May yet. I hope they get to it very soon so you can start making your plans. My wife insists her interview will be on May 3, which if that is true I would like to know soon so I can start making travel arrangements.
