Oh boy, I hope it's not an issue for me. I listed all educational institutions for elementary school, high school, and college. For elementary and high school, I put N/A for degree (just put dates down). Under course of study I just repeated "elementary school" and "high school", respectively.., hope that's not a major issue... For college it was easy. I put his major under course of study and "Bachelor's" under degree.

It shouldn't be a problem that you listed elementary school. They really need to update the DS-230 to mention at what point they want to start listing schools. Thankfully, on the DS-260 (online version), they actually specify. So, that's what I did for my DS-230 to bring to the interview, and that's what I tell everyone else to do on their DS-230s. You technically should have put down 'diploma' for high school (if you got one). I'm sure the reviewing officer will understand what you meant though. Not that the school section is a huge deal. They won't deny you if you don't have a degree laughing.gif

For mine, i asked Saylin and went with her suggestion:

Most present to past

1) college , under degree or diploma, i put Degree

2) high school, under degree or diploma, i put Diploma

3) previous high school, under degree or diploma, i put None

Time between each 1) to 2) 3 month difference,

2) to 3) 2 month difference

I didnt get any RFE.

thanks to Saylin

Hope you won't get any RFE, if you do then just edit and send it back :)

3 star_smile.gif's for you for listening good.giflaughing.gif

That's what I did for mine yes.gif I also had two high schools ;)

Thanks for the responses, both of you. Being that I haven't been billed yet for the IV, I can strike through the N/A and write down what I need. Hehe, I was just being curious. As Saylin said, didn't seem to be a big deal to me AND it is sorta understood. You can't really advance to high school without grade school completion (or an equivalent) and same for high school to college.

Oh, if you haven't sent it yet, I'd suggest changing the 'n/a' for the high school one to 'diploma'.

And yeah, really no big deal about being super correct on this question. I have yet to see one single checklist for this question for not doing it correctly. Haven't seen it happen yet...

Now, for the question above about current/previous addresses, that I've seen a bunch of checklists for. It's pretty much the only one you see for the DS-230.

Oh, is that the one about the '16 years of age' bit? Yea, I had to count when was my husband's 16th birthday since he was in the same place until college. I read about doing that instead if writing since birth since clearly it says 'age of 16'... Lol, I try to minimize my creativity in answers especially when they're specific about what they want.

I hear the IV bill won't post till after the fee change goes in effect but I hope to be able to send out the AOS package at least early sometime this week.

Yup, that's the question. I frequently see checklists for either 1). not doing it since age of 16, and 2). leaving gaps between residences.

And yeah, I saw about that IV invoicing. Sucks to be honest. You think they'd give you the option of paying the $404 now or waiting for the $304 later. IMO, I'd rather pay the $404 and save a week.

yea, it does suck... i would pay the extra $100 as well and was planning to. i thought i would have the option... AOS fee still not 'paid' which sucks...

the only other thing i'm worried about is the PCC expiring on April 21, but i think i can write a note in my cover letter explaining that a newer one can be obtained and brought to the interview if necessary (they really shouldn't delay us by issuing a checklist since it would be very recently expired...).. hopefully that'll work... have to wait and see...

Hmm, if you get the IV bill paid right away, and if it doesn't take long to appear as PAID, and if you mail off the IV package straight away, they MAY get to it and review it before April 21. But yes, I'd include a note about obtaining a current one for the interview, if necessary. That should work yes.gif Good luck!

Divs,

Thanks for the info..I was just seeing the interview dates for Mumbai/Delhi and it looks like they are about to schedule it for the month of May. Do you think we might get our date in the month of June or is it going to be in July based on ur exp?

I was doing a li'l study based on timelines for the past few years, but only for the Mumbai consulate. What I've figured out so far is that if you get a CC before the 20th (more like on or before 15th really), you get scheduled for the next month, and all those who have a CC after the 15th to 20th, get scheduled for the month after that. Since I got a CC on the 22nd of March, I think I might get a slot in May. Haven't yet checked how it works at the Delhi consulate though.
