Timeline

I ended up calling the NVC 3 times today. I spoke with Riley just a few minutes ago. She seemed annoyed that I was calling again. I told her that I just wanted to confirm that the divorce certificate is under review by a supervisor. She confirmed that was the case. I then asked if we could request to bring the document to the interview if they reject the one we already sent. She told me that I would have to send them a letter explaining why the document was unobtainable. If it comes to that I will point out that they cannot provide me an example of the document they are looking for so how can I provide the document they want?

I'm wondering if they are contacting the embassy in Santiago to get confirmation on the document. If that is the case that would explain why nothing happened today because the embassy is closed due to Good Friday being a national holiday in Chile.

Right now my biggest concern is that the NVC will start assigning interview dates for Chile for the month of May and that by the time we get this straightened out it will be too late for May interviews and then we will have to wait another month.

You FOOLS I've emailed it to you TWICE!

Wait till Tuesday on this. Then call in , get a Supervisor Human, ask him/her to ensure the file attachments in your email are added to your EP casefile.

There's a massive lag on email at NVC, from 'actual event' to 'you get a notice'.

By jove I've figured it out!

My I-864 I marked 'Employed' then put STUDENT and the name of my college. Some fool at NVC thinks I get W2s from being a student...

I'm calling them back.. /sigh in the long run it's my bad, I should have just marked 'unemployed' since I quit working to go to school full time.

Ye Gods - it's almost as if you need to send in a timeline on yer working status for that year, broken down by month.

I have no strenght enough to wait until april 15th to call NVC as they keep telling me.

So, your wife got the document she needs from the office staff at the doctor's office, and has sent it off to NVC, on Thursday, yes?

hello the email template on DS 3032 is that the form im going to send on nvc thru online?thanks.

you probably mean the 'DS-3032 email template' that's referenced back in post #1.

i tried to send the email template but i always keep getting auto response saying follow instructions and i have put everything i tried 10x but getting same answer

auto response is normal.

Hi everyone. My son's case has just been completed yesterday and I'm still waiting for my case no. I want to be interviewed together with my son, so my husband called NVC yesterday and we were told to email Supervisor Sue for expedite. What does that mean? Our case is not really a matter of life and death situation so why would they say something about expedite? Any ideas? thanks! :-)

Well, it's possible that your husband got a braindead SERCO contractor, who really wasn't listening.

There are magic buzzwords that these sub-humans have been trained to listen for - here's what yer husband needs to say, when he calls in tonight:

I need you to join up the two casefiles in your system, immediately. Push the button, make the request, make it happen. This is a spouse and derivative child visa application, 2 sets of casefiles - here's the casefile numbers (then he reads them out over the phone) - make it happen

Good Luck ! Copy/paste my response to yer husband, in an email, nowish. NV closes in 2.25 hours, he has time to get it done.

Darnell, I have to wait for my wife to get the letter from the doctor. In the meantime I got to keep calling to know if we have an interview date. My case has not stopped at nvc and following his normal course just like other cases.

Why to wait? I sense inertia due to ignorance of process has swamped you, much. Your wife, even more so.

Sure, it may seem a mean thing to say, but when you already tell me yer gonna ignore me because you not understand me? and you refuse to forward my instructions from last month to yer wife?

well, you've made yer own pot of stew, those choices you made.

[..]

At the interview they didn't take my pictures, and they even gave back one of the 2 I sent to the NVC.... so they only had one left and scanned it for the visa. Now I can only suppose that they put that one photo in the brown enveloppe and that's enough for the green card!

Ah yes, I remember reading that in your review and was confused why they didn't take your pictures (and actually gave one back!). I suppose in your case, they're taking your IV package picture and using that for your green card. Guess you'll see once you get it ;)

I have a question for the Canadians here :)

I've been looking at plane tickets for a while... and it looks like a short-notice no-stops one-way flight from London to Denver is going to cost about $1700.

I would rather not throw around that kind of cash for a plane ticket, obviously. But I'm slightly worried about having my husband go through POE at a layover in another US city (like if we got a flight from London with a layover in Chicago, he'd have to go through POE in Chicago). Since POE stuff seems to take a variable amount of time (2-3 hours sometimes), we'd have to try to schedule a layover with like 5 hours inbetween flights, which is kind of brutal given that the actual flight is about 14 hours.

So I was thinking about buying a flight that has a layover in Toronto. But I recall from being a student in Canada that Canadian airports (at least the ones I was at) have a "US soil" part of the airport... I remember actually going through US customs in the "US" part of the Ottawa or Vancouver airport. If my husband lands in Canada on a layover, will he do POE there?

Here is the list for pre-clearance locations in Canada: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/toolbox/contacts/preclear_locations.xml I say do that if it's cheaper. Still give yourself enough time. And remember, when going through POE, you wouldn't be dealing with Canadians, they're still part of the US Customs and Border Patrol, they just work in an airport located in Canada, so they're not necessarily "friendly".

Hey guys. I recently got my approval last Friday andI am currently waiting for our police certificate and tax transcripts. Should I call and ask for the case number now? Or wait for everything to arrive? Thank u in advance.

It'll still probably be another 2 weeks before you get a case number assigned. I still suggest calling every day so you can be on top of things. And don't worry about the documents you're missing as it'll probably be another month before you can mail the AOS package and another week after that before mailing the IV package.

Saylin, my interview checklist looks exactly like this...so you are saying 2011 tax returns need to be brought to interview? And as far as passport photos, if we sent 2 to NVC do we need 2 more for interview?

If you didn't send in 2011 tax information to NVC, then yes, bring it as your interview date is after the April 17th tax deadline where 2011 tax information is then required.

Yes, still bring another 2 to the interview. I sent 2 to NVC, but still needed to bring in another 2 for the interview.

I got my DS3032 acceptance email just now (i think)... AOS still 'in process' and no IV bill yet... guess Monday there might be some action for me...

You think? Did it say the DS-3032 was accepted?

[...]

you got up at 11:52 today? what was yer point score accumulation on the game, overnight ? ;)

[i'm too old to be a gamer]

I got up at 11:34am :P

And I play World of Warcraft, no "points" on that game ;)

You welcome, I do not need to search anything about ur expedite in the past, I am dealing with my situation and will get it done when the time comes -i am not going to put a gun at the doctor's head to get a letter. There is a time for everything, I do not have to pressure when I know what my wife went through last month with her former doctor. God started the process, he will end it well, that is what we believe and will happen. Before you jump to conclusion or judging people as or telling them about ignorance, ask questions to know what happened last month and what is exactly going on. Good for you u got an expedite quickly and was approved. Every situation are not the same... If u sincerely want to help u got to stop being rude and rough with ur post. I do not want u to feel that u are obliged to reply to any post I made here. You reply if u want to come up with something that make sense not with arrogance. My God willl continue making miracle just like he started and very soon I will be with my wife.

Actually, I understand all, because I'm a reader (you wrote all, yes?) and I've been able to gist yer exact situation, then give you advice on what to do, early on, last month.

Unfortunately, you decided to not take my advice. Tempus Fugit.

I fully back you up on this one. For obvious reasons I also think that sometimes Darnell has this tone of arrogance, and boldness in his replays. I don't care how much experience you have or how much you know about the immigration process, but if you come to this forum to judge people then you're really in the wrong place. If you're going to help and make constructive comments then do it, then otherwise withdraw from this practice. I don't know if you're a moderator of not but definitely you don't look like one. Just to give you an example, When have you seen Saylin writing to somebody in the same terms Darnell has? Saylin is informative, patient, and never judges. We have the person we need here to guides us (as long as she's willing to belong to VJ) but the last thing we need is a "Darnell" to come and "show off" his knowledge in a bold and presumptuous way.

Obliged? no, not at all.

My hope (really) is that anyone reading these missives can understand that an expedite is possible based on high risk pregnancy, and can follow basic instructions on what to do.

As to 'arrogance' - sorry, you pegged that, ages past, after you refused to take action after I gave you the advice. Your God is a fair God, and gives Humans free will, leaving it up to all Humans to make choices. So, Free Will has damaged you, much.

Suffice it to say that the overwhelming burden of you being 6000 miles away from yer pregnant wife has driven you to the edge, and you truly aren't listening. You want sympathy, but refuse to engage in the expedite process at NVC, refusing to train your wife with the exact process for getting it started. Was it your environment that caused this? I claim it was Free Will, given to you by Your God, instead.

As to the use of the advanced search tool - the bit you are missing (because you not use it) is that I've walked about 45 couples through the expedite process over the last 3 years. I know how to do it ! I've told you how to get it started! You refuse to listen, and think your time is better spent searching for sympathy at VJ.

Now, as to this new doctor - you aren't thinking straight. Your wife can call in to the office, talk to a staff member, get exactly what she needs same day - is NO NEED to talk to the doctor, at all - a member of staff at the doctor's office suffices. I mentioned this, already, but you refuse to put that into action. Again, Free Will from Your God has hampered you - you chose to do something else.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
