By jove I've figured it out!

My I-864 I marked 'Employed' then put STUDENT and the name of my college. Some fool at NVC thinks I get W2s from being a student...

I'm calling them back.. /sigh in the long run it's my bad, I should have just marked 'unemployed' since I quit working to go to school full time.

well, some students (like me) get paid and hence DO get a w2, so i see why there could be confusion...

March 19, 2012 - Case received at NVC (in building)

April 02, 2012 - Received case #, IIN, submitted email addresses

That's probably the issue. The only thing I get 'paid' is the student loans I take out lol.

I'm still on hold with them. Hopefully this can be straightened out with another I-864.

Yes, that is the template you email, instead of regular mailing hard copy DS-3032.

yea, student status is a little tricky i think. My problem is that i don't receive an 'annual income' per se, so i had to explain my situation in my AOS cover letter... i just hope its clear enough not to receive a checklist and we get approval...

Emailing the corrected I-864 now.. geezy peezy this has been an experience. Too bad I figured it out when they couldn't.

Make sure you do NOT use white-out, but simply scratch it out and write in the correct information.

Thanks for pointing that out...white out was already lurking in my mind...but @ some point I would of came on here and asked for advice! LOL

Yup, I made some mistakes and just crossed off and rewrote and NVC accepted my docs.

Thanks Steph...I swear I have printed the damn thing like 3 times already! Am glad somebody mentioned the free Adobe trial...that way I already have it saved!

i tried to send the email template but i always keep getting auto response saying follow instructions and i have put everything i tried 10x but getting same answer

Times like these I wish they still had the AVR. It would be nice to talk to a computer just to hear Case Complete instead of sitting for 15 minutes to talk to a person.

I hope they brought it "DOWN" because it was always 1 to 7 days 'off' of an actual event happening at NVC.

I'm also hoping that some real time data hooks are being put in place, for when it comes back online.
