I am still confused, so in line 30 for ds 230, should i mention date from when my wife turned to be 16 years or i can still right from the year when she was born as she is leaving at same place.

for example she was born in 1990

so it would be 01-2006 till present

or 01-1990 till present

thanks

she is leaving at 1 single place from the time she was born

My husband lived at the same place from birth to age 26. (yes, he didn't leave home until 26 lol) I put from 8/1978 to 2/2005 and it wasn't a problem on the DS-260.

I would suggest writing from the day of her 16th birthday (if she's been living at the same place since birth), as that's what they want. You can call up NVC and ask a few operators about this. See what they say and take the majority answer.

I mean how they split the photos to put with a package.. The US government is big on putting photos with personnel files. One photo goes in your AOS file, one goes in your IV file. With paper files the photos are stapled to the page.. with digital files I guess they cut and paste.

The military was a lot like immigration, 90000 photos of myself, and I have no idea what the Army did with all of them lol

Ohh, sorry I misunderstood. I didn't know they put one for the AOS file and one for the IV file. I thought they just both stayed with the IV file since the AOS is about the petitioner. *shrug* Perhaps for EP, they just print it out for their own files and forward the electronic version to the consulate.

And I know, it's amazing how many photos they get of the beneficiary. Two with the I-130 petition, two for the IV package, three for the medical, and another two at the interview. Nine in total. Not to mention the ones needed for ROC and Naturalization headbonk.gif

Yeah, I'm actually looking at the copy of my DS-230 I handed in at the interview, and I was living at a place from age 13 to almost 17. And I put the date when I actually moved there (at age 13), not the exact date when I turned 16. So, I don't know now... wacko.gif

NVC still has not received my case :bonk::bonk:

Looking at my spreadsheet, you should be getting your case number this coming week yes.gif

And don't worry about them not receiving the case yet; it's just sitting in the mail room. My case was "received" on the same date I got my case number. Just focus on the date of case number assigned as that's what's important.

So glad for that photo site you suggested. Now we print photos when needed. Hubby doesn't like his latest photo, he wants his green card photo to be prettier, I guess. When I get to Winnipeg next month, I'll take another photo and head to wal-mart and crank out a sheet... or two...

And I used it for my passport renewal last fall, no issues what so ever.

Yes but it sucks so much to just sit and wait and do nothing! I want this process to move forward and right now it is just halted.

Yes, I am SO grateful for that site I found. Saved so much money for the pictures for the IV package, medical, and interview. Just wish I had heard of it for my I-130 petition before spending $30 headbonk.gif

And the bigger benefit than saving money, in my opinion, is that you can keep taking pictures until you're satisfied. I took probably at least 10 for my interview ones as I knew that was going on my green card, and I wanted it to look good laughing.gif And then I discover, on my green card, the picture is in black & white, not color. I don't see my pretty pink hair on it :(

Yeah, but just consider this a preparation period. Have everything filled out and signed, scanned, and uploaded into a PDF format (if doing EP). Go over the DS-260 screenshots and make sure you have all information needed.

Like others and myself say, once you get the case number, it typically goes very fast up until everything is submitted.

I have everything and it is ready. I just need the case number so I can put it on my cover letter and on the back of the photos and then add it to every page. I have already collected all the documents and have everything in place. I have had it ready for ages!

I had all my stuff ready to go since November! We sent the I-130 off in June. FINALLY in March we are approved, and it took 20 days to get a case number, so I took those 20 days to get updated signatures on the forms and put 2011 tax documents with it.

Sometimes I still get bummed.. if USCIS hadn't 'lost us' my husband would have already been here!

Bad news for me. I was expecting a case complete but instead when I called the Operator Cindy told me that I should not have filled the I-864 but the I-864W. I guess this is the difference between petitioning for a minor (I-864W) while a spouse (I-864). So I will complete the I-864W and FedEx it on Monday.

Also they want me to send an email explaining (once again) why the police certificate is not available for minors in Kenya. I already put the explanation letter in the IV packet as one operator had instructed me to do. Now Cindy says send an email with same explanation. Like I mentioned before, unless you are 18 and have been issued the Kenya National Identification Card, the CID (Criminal Investigative Dept) will be unable to issue you with a police certificate. My 16 yr old son already went to the CID and they told him that.

One more wasted week.
