In some countries, you can do an advance medical as soon as you have your case number, compared to waiting for an interview date letter. Such places: London, the Philippines. You'd have to contact the panel physician in Ukraine to see if you can schedule it now or have to wait for an interview date to be scheduled first.

okay but for your question, you would just call the doctors office they provide and ask if you can make the appointment or if you need the letter, they will tell if you can schedule or if you have to wait

Same here, I actually like him better than the English counterpart, he seems more realistic and he is always grumpy

So...I noticed I didn't fill out the Province either on this question...would it be ok, to WRITE IT IN, or do I have to type out a new form, send it to the hubby for signature again and have him send it back?

Also, while we're on the subject of leaving things blank, #23 & #28 (on DS230, parents deceased?) I left that blank. They aren't deceased. I tried to put N/A but the form said that was not a valid format...so, again, can I WRITE IN N/A?

Sorry if it all seems trivial...just trying to avoid RFE's...

My problem was that I misunderstood the question. Question# 30 says,"List below all places you have lived for at least six months since reaching the age of 16, including places in your country of nationality. Begin with your present residents".

For my wife I put her residents from birth to present, NOT age 16 to present!! so i had to remove 16 years from her dates!

NVC mentioned that a lot of people missed this or misunderstood it entirely.

Question#23 we put the year her father died, yes you must do this!

Question#28 we left this blank, as #27 gives her current address!

Yes, you don't need to bring any of that stuff. In your case, all you'd bring to the interview is the following:

-passport

-interview letter (first page that states the beneficiary's name, place of interview, date of interview)

-medical results (if not sent directly by panel physician)

-2 passport photos (used for the green card)

-2011 tax information as it'll be after the April 17th tax deadline

Proof of relationship is optional, but highly recommended. Don't know how hard Spain is. [...]

Saylin, may I ask: why is it that NVC doesn't include 2 passport photos, passport and tax information in the Interview Letter as items to bring to the interview? Also, what is the purpose of submitting 2 passport photos along with the DS-230 pkg.? I'm thinking that one of them would be used for the Green Card.

Make sure you do NOT use white-out, but simply scratch it out and write in the correct information.

Well, the passport is common sense to bring to the interview, no? You have to give your passport to receive the visa.

I mentioned tax information because around the beginning of the year, most people don't have their recent taxes filed, but when their interview comes around, which is often after April 17th (tax deadline), those recent taxes are then required. Again, this should be common sense.

Who knows why they don't use the pictures from the DS-230, or from the medical, or even the G-325A in the I-130 petition. I'm thinking that: USCIS keeps the photos for their files, and then NVC keeps the photos for their files, and the panel physician keeps the photos for their files, so then there's a need for photos for the green card, which is why you bring some to the interview.

I am still confused, so in line 30 for ds 230, should i mention date from when my wife turned to be 16 years or i can still right from the year when she was born as she is leaving at same place.

for example she was born in 1990

so it would be 01-2006 till present

or 01-1990 till present

Well, if we're gonna start talking about things NVC (or USCIS) should be including in correspondence, there's a lot more than just that. That's why it's practically necessary to be on these kind of forums just to be informed of what you really need for each step of this process. I'm sure everyone here would take at least a year to get through this entire thing if we didn't have VJ. I know I definitely would have been in NVC longer as I wouldn't have known about the online forms, required for Montreal.

That's why you bring passport photos to the interview. Those are the ones used for the green card, not the ones submitted with the IV package.

I mean how they split the photos to put with a package.. The US government is big on putting photos with personnel files. One photo goes in your AOS file, one goes in your IV file. With paper files the photos are stapled to the page.. with digital files I guess they cut and paste.

The military was a lot like immigration, 90000 photos of myself, and I have no idea what the Army did with all of them lol
