So I just recently sent out my I-130, 485, 765, 131 package, with the amazing help the VJ guide has provided.

NOA date was 3/20, and I just received today the biometrics appointment date (4/9). I think this is going fairly fast, and I am really happy about that.

However, I did notice that my appointment was set at Charleston, WV, instead of the Washington DC office I put in the forms. It turns out, from where I live (southwest VA), Charleston, WV is the closer USCIS Office. I had no idea!

Does the fact that my biometrics appointment was set up in WV mean that my case has automatically been transferred to Charleston?

Would I have my interview the same place where I have my biometrics?

Also, if this is a transfer, will this delay my timeline? I did file my application later than I would have liked, and I am nervous that my current EAD (post graduation OPT) would expire, costing me my job.

I would appreciate any advice from anyone with any knowledge on this matter. Thank you in advance!!

Where you get biometrics is not necessarily where you have your interview. Most of the time the locations that do biometrics do not also do interviews but occasionally they are the same. USCIS will schedule your interview for the field office that covers your location regardless of what you may have written down as your expected location.

Hey!! My appointment is there too on the same day at 11 a.m.

I was expecting louisville, ky to be my local office, but i guess they know better!

Mine's at 1pm. Good luck to both of us! :)

Thank you for the response. I have my fingers crossed for fast and uneventful processing!
