My fiance is in Lebanon and the Beirut embassy requires a police certificate from every country he has lived in for more than six months since he was 16 years old. Unfortunately this includes Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates... My fiance started at the UAE embassy in Lebanon and they instructed him to go to the department of external affairs in Beirut, get his finger and palm prints, fill out some paperwork etc etc etc and then take all of these things to each embassy and then wait approximately NINE TO TEN MONTHS!!!! His petition would be expired by then! I have read maaany posts regarding police certificates from these countries and have come across everything from "it should take only 1-2 weeks" to "UAE and KSA do not supply police certificates so he will not need them at all" and all the links posted on these replies lead nowhere :(

Can someone pleeeease offer some real advice with guidance to where I can find these answers stated on an offical website? We are willing to do whatever it takes to be together but the last thing we need is to waste time chasing false leads. Any help would be super appreciated. Thank you!

your time line shows that u just start your journey

and u dont have any other choice u have to wait for 9 months for the police record from the other countries

so the good thing that you are not going to interview before 7 months from now

cause lately USCIS talking long time to approve the i129f

so its okey maximum you are going to loose arround 2 months for the interview

but after you got the approval from USCIS u have to explain that for the NVC (national visa center), that you are waiting for the police record from the other countries he live more then 6 months and good luck for your journey

Police certificates not required for people no longer living in UAE

Police Records

Available, only if applicant is physically present in the UAE.

Department of State website

KSA - If your fiance is not a Saudi national and no longer resides in country they are also unavailable.

Police Records

Police clearances are available for Saudi citizens and resident third country nationals. Saudi citizens currently residing overseas must return in person to process the police clearance.

Department of State website

Qatar -

Police and Prison Records

How to obtain a police clearance certificate from Qatar:

Former residents should write to the Department of Public Security and General Administration, Ministry of Interior, P.O. Box 920, Doha, State of Qatar supported by the following documents:

A letter requesting the issuance of a Police Clearance Certificate from the State of Qatar. The letter should include the purpose in requesting the Police Clearance Certificate, the first date of arrival of the person in Qatar and the last date of departure.

A complete photocopy of all pages of the passport (include copies of all pages, regardless of entries).

A set of fingerprints taken by a competent government authority from the applicant's current place of residence.

3 passport-size photographs.

A self-addressed return envelope large enough to hold an A4 size document.

The Police Clearance Certificate will be issued in about two weeks and will be mailed to the applicant.

Department of State website

The DOS website is the information the embassies go by. Your fiance will need clearances from Lebanon and Qatar but not UAE or KSA.

No worries. There is a link for the DOS site on VJ if you ever need it again. You can find it by clicking on the "VJ Affiliates" tab at the menu bar towards the top. Then clicking on "US Government Services" and from that page you should see the link for the "DOS Police Certificates" page.

Good luck with the rest of your process!
