bought two tickets for 2100$...an adult ticket and a child ticket...both were about 1000$ each...also through continental and its direct flight  1500$ is epensive

yes $1500 is not cheap at all. what month are you travelling? I paid $840 ( internet search )about 5 weeks ago for my round trip ( airfrance) . In fact I saw it for a little over $600 on KLM ( very rare though ) but by the time I made up my mind to travel and switch around work schedule with someone it had gone up. Right now DELTA and ARIKAIR are going for abt $1100 ( internet search). towards november /dec it can get that high like you said but if you buy early also, you save some cash.

Ticket will vary over the course of the year. I check Kayak and Vayama. During the low months LAX to LOS can run about 900 RT and during the worse of times I can still get the same trip for about 2400 ( end of December when everyone wants to go home ) Be sure to use the 3 day before and after option as it can make huge differences. Also watch the total travel time. I see every thing from about 17 hours to over 40. I tend to avoid anthing over 30 hours unless it is a lot cheaper ( or I want to play at the midpoint) Summer tickets ( after midish May will run your just under 2k ) Tickets from the east coast will be lower. United runs the direct flight from Houston now due to a Merger and Delta does the direct flights from the east ( like Atlanta )

Go to Farecompare.com. It will give you alerts to let you know when something comes across the radar. But yes $1500 is no way cheap. I just look at when I hope to leave May 2 and it is now $906. Now this Tuesday at 2pm they say is the best time and day to buy a ticket.

Keep looking prices don't start going crazy till August mid to the end so beware. But do check this sight and alot of times the airlines themselves have better deals than whats advertise. Have a lot to do before May 2 but I pray I can be there for our 1 year anniversary. kicking.gif
