Hi all, just received the NOA2 yesterday. yay! The letter said to wait 30 days for them to contact us..is this necessary or can it the delay be reduced by calling and giving them an email address to contact us through instead? We were going to create a joint email addy for both of us to access so all the info can be sent to one email address...

Also, and this may be risky...I have to sell my house, and we need to find ourselves a rental for June 1st. Am I able to have a moving company bring my household belongings across the border to his rental? We are in Windsor/Detroit border city. I cross about 1-2 times per week. Just wondering if that is allowed or if I have to put my stuff in storage over here instead.

One last question..are they really booking interviews 5 months away?

Thanks, hope everything is going well for all!

No, you can't move your household goods without the visa in hand. Yes, you can contact NVC and when they have assigned a case number, you can opt in for electronic processing. Expect your visa interview will be no sooner than sometime this autumn, due to Montreal's interview backlog and the six weeks minimum (from optin onward) to clear NVC before entering the interview queue.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Please to study the first 2 posts over at http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/354975-nvc-filers-march-2012/

There's a collection of links in the first post, you and yer uscitizen spouse should read all of the content referenced in those click-a-ble links, this weekend.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I know it seems like the logical thing to do is to bring your stuff to the U.S., but it is definitely not allowed until after you have entered the united states with your Visa. Your fiance however can bring over the odd thing when returning to the states. My fiance brought over some things that he had lent me during our courtship, and was 'scolded' by the border guard that it appeared he was bringing over my belongings and that was NOT the purpose of the K1 Visa. So, if you don't want to call attention to yourself, don't start bringing stuff. :) I also had to move out and rent, and put my stuff in storage til I entered on the visa. The mover than put the stuff back on the truck and brought it all over. I used Mayflower in Windsor and they were pretty dependable and did a good job. They did not however seem to understand the Kvisa process nor the Forms I needed to fill out (the 3299?) so do not expect your mover to know how you fill out your forms. You can get help here though for that. :):luv:
