Apply for Change of Status and Change Name & Get SSN

I am not sure if I am in the correct forum but hope I will get some guidance here. After sever months of struggle, my fiancee(now Wife) finally got to US last month on K-1 visa and we got married couple weeks ago. Our marriage certificate is here as well.

So I have few questions:

  1. My wife wants to change her last name. What is the correct procedure of doing this? Can we just do it while we apply for change of status?
  2. Also she hasn't applied for SSN yet for the same reason. How can we get a SSN with her changed name?

I hope I am not taking too long to do anything and doing everything correctly. Please advice how I should proceed.

Thank you,

You apply for AOS using the new married name.

You go to the SSN office with marriage certificate and apply for SSN using married name.

There is no "Name change process", you use the marriage certificate to obtain documents in married name.
