Married, not looking to immigrate, wanting to visit the family

I have posted earlier about applying for a CR-1 visa for my partner and after much thought have realized that neither of us wants to be in the United States for long periods of time in the foreseeable future. He has family and businesses in his home country and I am finally finding a career and work here.

Yet, my family misses my partner and I, and continuously asks when we will come to visit. He had a 5 year tourist visa that has just recently run out (before we were married). We decided to get married in the event that we need/want to go back to the states at some point, and might as well forgo the conditions surrounding a green card, as we have been together for five years already.

My question is how do I legally visit the states with my husband?

He applies for a B2 visa, just like before. He will need to show ties to his country. Your ties to the foreign country will also help - to show you both have no plans to go back to the US.

AOS for my husband

Thank you Harpa. This clears things up. I was hoping that the marriage would not hurt his chances of receiving a visa in order to visit friends and family.

So let say in six years we decide to go back to the states and lets also say he stills has his B visa. We should just go ahead and apply for the CR-1 and or seek a change of status?

You file the I-130 and when that petition is approved, he applies for an IR-1 visa.
