Hello. Should my wife photocopy both the front and back of her French Birth Certificate? The back simply mentions how to verify that the original Birth Certificate is real but since we are only sending photocopies those 'tips' written on the back are pretty much useless.

If there is anything written on the back include it. The back of my husband's has pretty much the same thing, how see the security details. Ir didn't turn out very clear in black and white, so I re-scanned it in color and sent that.

Thanks guys. I have another question regarding my wife's Birth Certificate ... It needs to be translated from French to English. If her mom were to translate it, could she simply scan the signed and dated translation and send it to us by e-mail? Or must we have the original copy?

Her mother can translate it, she has to sign and say she is fluent in both English and French and is capable of translating the document. You have to take the original copy and the original translation to the interview. I'm not sure how adjustment of status works in that regards. (if you take things in, or send them in, or if they ask specifically for copies)

Thanks all. I have another question about my wife's Birth Certificate. My friend chimcham on here made note that a long form of the Birth Certificate is needed. My wife is from Quebec and her Birth Certificate doesn't mention the hospital she was born in nor the place of birth of her parents. It does have their names on it but that's it. Is this normal?

Yes, all my husband's (Manitoba) has is his city of birth and his parents names. As long as it has her parents names on it, it is considered the 'long form'
