So my attorney was at the Dallas office today on other business and asked about my case while she was there. She was told by the officer who interviewed me that he is "behind on his approvals", and will try to get to mine as soon as possible.

I thought it was as simple as pushing a button on his computer, but there you go...

Apparently I haven't waited long enough. Maybe USCIS want to break that 365 day mark.

I'm hoping that when he finally "gets around" to it then he will backdate the approval to the 8th. I've already lost substantial amounts of time towards citizenship, especially since I have to wait five years for that instead of three.

I contacted my congressman's office and the Ombudsman again last week to try and get something moving.

I'm not sure which did it, or perhaps it's a simple coincidence, but...

"Application Type: I485 , APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On April 3, 2013, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

I won't truly believe it until it is in my hands. There is still plenty of room for USCIS to disappoint me further; maybe there will be a typo on the card or it will be sent to another address.

I am definitely a glass-half-empty kinda person.

I finally received my green card in the mail today. It is (a) shiney, and (b) free from errors.

So I guess I am done here. The April 2012 filers are apparently complete!

Congrats, Hypnos! I came back to make sure you're done waiting, too. Man, reading through your interview experience reminded me of how stressful of a time I was having a year ago. It's hard to believe, but I had somehow managed to forget about all the stress and worries.

I hope everyone is doing fine and all of you are happy and healthy and I'll talk to you in about a year for those of you who need to remove conditions :)

Look at what I found, Hypnos! This is from my birthday last year... and we're currently planning my next one. I can't even believe it took almost a year! At least you don't have to remove conditions or worry about anything else immigration related from here on out. Congrats again!

I'm still just in a holding pattern. I'm hoping my interview will be scheduled before my kids go back to school at the end of August so that I won't need to have them skip school on that day. I already had to do that when I was having my medical done.

June 25 - NOA1

Sometime mid July - the letter for biometrics came in, while I was abroad; I pushed the date back to August

Sometime in August - biometrics on the right day, didn't go for early

August 25 - RFE, deadline Nov 14

Nov 10 - sent out RFE response

Nov 19 - card ordered, no interview

Nov 30 - green card arrived
