Ibee when they cancelled your interview did they update your status online?

Status online did not change.. and no one knew where my file really was... but a few days after the cancellation I received a new interview appointment. Fingers crossed for you, hang in there!

Since my congressman's office told me to contact them again if I had not received any decision within 30 days, I sent another email to the man I have been in contact with asking them to follow up with USCIS again, since it has now been 30 days.

We will see what happens.

How long did you wait for another interview date? Do i need to call them or go to our field office to talk to the immigration officer although its a four hour drive from us.

kmyers, I think it will help if I explain my timeline a bit

Day 71...6/12/12 - Interview scheduled for July 13th!!!

Day 82...6/23/12 - We mailed letter to old Office to confirm change of address and cancel our July 13th interview. Received NOA for an Interview scheduled in Philadelphia Office on July 24th!

Day 92...7/03/12 - July 24th interview was cancelled (file did not get in on time). Got NOA for interview on August 9th!

The July 13th interview was in South Dakota, at which point we had moved to east coast. So they cancelled that on 6/23. And in that stack of mail (I only checked the PO Box once a week so the cancellation very well may have been there for a few days before I saw it) was also the NOA for interview on July 24th on the east coast (Philadelphia).

Then that interview was cancelled a few days before 4th of July. I made an InfoPass straight away for July 5th but that was not helpful at all... the IO had no idea where my file was so he told me to just wait. And that it could take up to 3 months for a new interview

And that was a holiday week so I gave it some more time and a few days later the NOA for interview on Aug 9th arrived, and the date it was MAILED was July 3rd but because it was a holiday week, it took a while for me to receive it.

SO, in my opinion give it some time, since yesterday was Labor Day and this will be a holiday week as well. I personally found InfoPass not helpful at all.

Speaking of Holiday Week, Hypnos, it may be a few days before you hear anything... Keep us posted, fingers crossed.

Hello VJ-ers,

I'm just wondering if any body else in here is stuck in limbo? Meaning you're adjustment of status which you've filed for back in the first week of April and has now been transfered to California Service Center. I have my EAD and AP, but nothings changed on my adjustment of status. Is it really going to take a year for me to get my green card? Is there something I should be doing to speed things up? Should I be calling and asking? Perhaps they lost my file and now it's not being reviewed. I'm really getting frustrated, just want to know if I'm not alone here.

AoS from K-1 which gets transferred to the CSC can regularly take upwards of six months for approval, and often closer to a year.

CSC is really backlogged right now, unfortunately. The upside is that, if it remains at the CSC, then you will probably be approved without needing an interview.

I have been advised by an attorney that I have consulted with in the past (not my own attorney at present) to consider contacting the DHS Ombudsman (http://www.dhs.gov/ombudsman-case-assistance) regarding my case. I am currently waiting to see what my own attorney thinks of this idea before pursuing it. I'm also still waiting on a response from my congressman's aide who is himself waiting on a reply from VSC before I decide how best to proceed.

I was really hoping that this would all be resolved by the time my kids went back to school. Now I'm hoping that it will be done by the end of the year but there seems to be no guarantee of that. USCIS are really digging in over my case and I seem to be in for the long haul.
